Can someone give some advice for a new player outside of the stuff in the OP? I understand the ideas of macro and micro, and to keep building collectors, ect., but I still feel like I'm just scrambling when I'm playing and I'm only running about 1/3 of my games in bronze league. I've only been playing Terran, since I'm familiar with them from the campaign.
I need stuff like build orders, general macro advice, ect. Like, is there a way to see how many SCV's you have mining or gassing on a given mineral patch or geyser? Build orders especially...just, where the hell do I go from here? It fucking blows to just get rolled constantly.
As a new player who hasn't even worked up the courage to get placed yet, it has helped me a lot to practice against the AI while building nothing but SCVs and marines. Practice always building workers, always building marines from your barracks, not getting supply blocked, and keeping your minerals as low as possible.
This approach helps because it greatly simplifies the macromanagement. There are fewer decisions to make, and you don't even have to worry about harvesting gas. Once you've gotten the hang of keeping units flowing and keeping your minerals low throughout the game, you can start playing with more "normal" strategies to add to the macro complexity.

If anyone has a spare minute: I'm doing some testing of my livestream and I could use someone to take a look at it and tell me if the FPS is good and the text is readable, all that good stuff.
You aren't allowed to complain, Terrans are the best at harassment, best at turtling, best at 1-basing, best @ sieging....
You guys have a mobile siege tank that can walk up cliffs! 4 less range but tanks need spotters to use all their range, and they sit there and can't move in siege mode! :P
Yeah it has its weaknesses I'm just over exaggerating all of tosses strengths.
Also I'm tired of having to gg if I only have 3 marines and a zealot sneaks into my base. Bunkers and Zealots got a build time increase so it's even hard to fend off closeys and seriously marine's can't kite zealots they catch up when you stop to fire and move about the same speed and a zealot can kill 3 marines by itself.

your ramp should definitely be walled off by the time a toss player can get a single zealot to your ramp
and you are doing it wrong if you can't kite a zealot with 3 marines

Not if he sends a probe right away on steps and 4 zealots magic in my base at the 6 minute mark.:x
isn't there something like a larva timer? something that plays a sound every 40 (ingame) seconds? or would that be considered a cheating tool even?
Exoplasm made something like that, I couldn't get it be timed correctly so I kind of gave up on it.
Couldn't you just set up something on your computer to play a tone every 40 seconds? (or however many seconds it actually is on "faster" speed).
I'm thinking of switching to zerg and that was the first thing I thought of. Well after thinking "Hey I can just check the clock now and use the ability every x seconds."

Umm about the OP. Might want to update my rank as Diamond for the basics write-up section as some might not find Gold/Platinum to be qualified for advice giving.

As Trus mentioned, I made an app to do that, but it is hard to approximate the time correctly. Check my sig.
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty – Patch 1.1.1
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where Ultralisk cleave range was being unintentionally extended by larger targets.
Fixed an issue where the Phoenix's Graviton Beam was automatically canceled if you used it just after the Phoenix reached 50 energy.
Fixed an issue where queuing Return Cargo on a worker would cause it to ignore the built-in delay after it finished gathering.
Fixed an issue where players watching older replays or saved games would experience stuttering.
Fixed an issue where some Mac users were unable to join games properly.

Ok so they patched out lazy mineral boosting but we can still do it with individual right clicks.

Gold player here, and I main Zerg, so I might be wrong in some things.
First mistake:
You send your reapers in a straight line to your opponent's base. Their ability to jump over cliffs means you should approach the base from the side, the front will always have all your opponent's units and defenses. Those 3 reapers could have taken 8-10 SCVs out easily before the marines would have gotten there, they were way out infront.
Reapers are only good at early game, they take a long time to come out and marines hard counter them, yet you kept on producing them. Use them only as a harass unit, or in any case snipe supply depots early game.
You also teched too much, and didn't build enough units first. You were getting stimpack and marine shield at the same time, yet you barely had any marines built, then you also started building missile turrets, when you didn't even know if your opponent had air units, you needed to scout/scan more.
You kept blindly sending your reapers to spots you didn't know what was there, around the 14:45 mark, the enemy had his forces concentrated in the middle of the field, just doing nothing. You had your 2 reapers moving up, and you could have spotted him from the ledge without him seeing you, but you simply jumped off the ledge right into siege tanks. Had you been able to get those 2 reapers into his base, you would have done a lot of damage, it was completely undefended.
You suicided your Vikings, right into the siege tanks, you should have simply let them go to the enemy base and wreak havoc there, your opponent surely would have panicked and retreated. Also note, he only has 11 SCVs after you killed some of them, your macro was way ahead of his, you should have had so many more units, but like I said, you teched too much and tried to get too many different things at once.
You built another command center, when you hadn't even started mining out of your first expo, no need to do that.
Your opponent didn't have any anti-air units, you could have lifted most buildings out of there.
Reaper at 20:00 again, they're terrible mid and late game, don't use them, specially when you've just lost your main.
Bears repeating: Scout more, he was one basing the whole thing with 11 SCV's and mainly tanks and marauders. Banshees would have completely annihilated him.

It's games like this that make me want to say terran is OP. While I don't necessarily take that stance, I still think terran infantry is a bit too mobile, strong, cheap, and quick to build. Not any one of these one aspects is unbalanced, but I feel that combined it may be a bit too much. For example, in this game(I certainly made a lot of mistakes), I had double his workers, was ahead by 20-30 food for most of the game, yet my army couldn't do anything, even though he was floating 1000-1500 minerals pretty consistently. I mean christ I had double the workers, he floats a ton of money, but his army is still able to beat mine...this does not seem right. This is also the perfect example of why toss needs colossi/templar, but I never got them this game due to the constant pressure. I was always trying to warp in reinforcements and never felt like I had the window to tech. And before anyone yells forcefield his army...I was trying. But you can't when he won't sit still. He just slowly kept picking off zealots and I couldn't do anything.
artosis kinda steals tasteless' thunder in these casts. I kind of like him when he gets real excited and starts yelling but that happens almost every game. tasteless saves the nerd voice raising for special moments

Protoss is dumb cause they have the other two races strong points with some of their own (hard hitting, mobile army)
Instant 200/200 army with warpgates anywhere on the map
A void ray, singular, can win you the game by the opponents army being simply out of position
Best early game unit (zealots), static defense
and yes, fuck 4gate.
And probes are lazy and just warp something in. Other two races gotta use that worker, hell Zerg loses one.

I know you're asking, "Dover, how come you didn't post the picture of this cake?"
Because that cake won the SC2 Beta contest and mine didn't! Therefore, my cake gets top billing in the thread. Beware my OP OP powers!!
Also, I added links to the TL tournament tracker, Gretorp's stream, GomTV, and I condensed the info into spoilers for less clutter.
What else would you guys like to see?
