Old things that we love to get nostalgic about thread

So recently, I've been trying to recall all the great things of my glorious childhood, despite only being in college, and I decided "hey, there should be a thread about that" and so here it is. People could also post things they want to reminisce about, but are having a hard time finding, and maybe someone can help! And maybe not, I'm not going to judge.

Recently, I've been reminiscing about the Hank the Cowdog series, which I used to listen to in audio-book form. For anybody who's not heard of Hank the Cowdog, it was a bunch of awesome mystery stories featuring the "Head of Security" for a local ranch named Hank, who happens to be a dog, and all the crazy stuff that goes on around there. It's pretty great

Some things I've had less luck finding, for starters there's this old series I remember called Square Bubbles, but it was apparently obscure even when I listened to it as a child, and I can't find anything about it. It was basically a story about these kids who got these portable holes that fell out of a truck, that lead to a really freaky other world, of which I can't remember a whole lot. It kinda freaked me out as a kid, but in a good way.

Then there's Ecco. I remember playing one specific Ecco game, but I can't remember which one it was. I'm leaning towards the Ecco Defender of the Future, but all I really remember about it is that it was like an RPG, a point and click if I recall correctly, you started in an aquarium or some such, and at one point you go into a really creepy cave with what appear to be evil manta rays with glowing red eyes.

There's other things, but they're even more vague, like a set of stories on tape which includes one about these kids who live on another planet that's trying to regrow all their plants, and go to Earth on a spaceship in an attempt to get away from their world, there are hoverboard things, and it really was just an awesome story.

So, what super nostalgic stuff do you guys like to reminisce about, and what things do you wish you could find or remember better, and stuff?

Sometimes if I'm having a bad day I'll pop in Ocarina of Time or Chrono Trigger and I just about always feel better. Nostalgia is a hell of a pick me up.

    Mighty Max.

Also Animaniacs. It's be nice if I could find a DVD box set that didn't cost a stupid amount and worked in a UK DVD player.

    Yeah that's the little fucker.

    What a stupid cartoon.

Didn't stop me from watching it, back when cable still only had like 50 channels.

Was a bit of a shock to read that third post before I realized it was nearly a decade old.
Really amazing how this forum has changed. Not feeling nostalgic for the old days, just amazed by the turn around.

Yo, @Lord_Asmodeus from the past, this is a message from the distant future.

Your puny primitive mind could not know it, but you were thinking of The Growler Tapes by Bob Sakayama, and you can listen to them all online. Square Bubbles was one of the four original programs, and the portable holes were from Way Out, Episode 3 of Growler Radio.
