Fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross's (Hailee Steinfeld) father has been shot in cold blood by the coward Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), and she is determined to bring him to justice. Enlisting the help of a trigger-happy, drunken U.S. Marshal, Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), she sets out with him -- over his objections -- to hunt down Chaney. Her father's blood demands that she pursue the criminal into Indian territory and find him before a Texas Ranger named LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) catches him and brings him back to Texas for the murder of another man.

holy shit man

I want this to be out now so I can watch it with my eyes

Coen Bros made it, that's an instant watch.

But it has Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon to boot.

It really is. I like the Coen brothers, and I really like Jeff Bridges, but no part of my brain can work out how he's going to pull off Rooster.

That one was the first I ever read, though it took me a couple tries. "Gentlemen of the Road" is a good buddy adventure story, shorter than the other books. "The Final Solution" is a very shot book about Sherlock Holmes briefly leaving retirement. "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Klay" is just amazing, full-scale novel that follows a fictionalized history of comic books in the 1930s-50s.
