iDVD Aspect Ratio Woes.

So I just did a favour for some friends by filming their wedding ceremony. All went well, and I was happy with the results after editing something together in iMovie 09. The problem is that I've just burned the DVD and on my widescreen telly, the image is "letter-boxed" (top and bottom) stretching the image slightly. This has the unfortunate affect of making the bride look frumpy. Not the look I was going for.

Aspect Ratio seems to be set at 16:9.
iDVD version is 7.0.4
iMovie Version is 8.0.6
Camera is a Canon Legria HFS100
TV is a Sony Bravia W Series.

User is confused.

DVD looks fine when played through my iMac either with iMovie directly or DVD player after burning.

Anyone encountered this?

Its most likely the TV/DVD player and not the disc itself. I'd suggest trying it on a different television, or playing around with the aspect settings on the set/player.

many DVD players have an option to manually set the aspect ratio of the screen you're playing to

    Thanks Guys.

I'll try a few other DVD players.
