Man, this is why I hate being a bronze-leaguer in a thread full of Diamonds and Plats.

I can't really participate in the cool things you guys do in any meaningful way. I'd just be a speed-bump on someone's road to glory (or total annihilation by others much more competent than me).

Man, every time I play an FFA it's always some bronze dude who somehow disrupts the balance of power and totally makes the game interesting.

Yeah, it's always a fight for expos, pulling back etc. Then all of a sudden that one dude who you thought was terrible rolls out with 60 void rays and ruins somebody's day.

Or the dude that's pretty bad keeps on attacking the winning guy, buying you time to rebuild and come out with a sick marine/ultralisk/medivac force. This happened in the beta, unfortunately the replays no longer work :(

    Funday Monday replay:

Myself, my brother and Seguer did a few with Immortal/Baneling/BC. Seguer gets some early pressure with cannons and reapers but some cool immortal micro, a handful of banelings and a mopup from 3 BCs manage to save the day and lead to a win!

    repimg-33-156797.jpg

That was a sick immortal block with the probes.
Not attacking made the zealots try to still hit the immortal, or he was target firing like a retard. Either way it was good.

I got this weird niggling we were going to win when I saw him do that. It was great. Re-watching that game really shows me how much I need to work on my multitasking though. Trying to keep up my macro and do really specific baneling micro really hurt me there, and I'm pretty D: about it- I could've done a lot better.

Hah yeah, as soon as I saw those Zealots I was all D: run to probes!

Thankfully the Protoss guy didn't realise, or my economy would have been taaanked.

    Lots of WeRRas out.

Also, I have now experimented with clowntoss for a couple of days. Changing races is fun, it's a whole new game, I dearly recommend it.

Now I just need to know what the hell to make vs the 4gate. Seeing how everyone's only doing that right now :P.

Anyone here have a decent FE or something? I saw Joe request one a couple of pages ago.

I haven't tried it yet, but there is a nexus on 15 build that is rather interesting vs zerg.

Honestly though, I'd try 3 gate aggression into expand, or 2 gate robo into expand before that as they a lot less iffy.

the one with mass roaches reminds me why i wish i could go mass roaches

there is something about being able to hold position micro forward towards somebody and see the volleys of acid

i guess it makes me feel like a terran

but i always get scared about air units

like, that one game in the IEM with idra where he was on the back foot for a while and suddenly pops 30 roaches and just hold positions into the guy's expo then base

it gives me a tingly feeling
    roaches are meaty units
    really meaty
and if you get fast regen/ground movement, they rock even more
I was going roach/muta vs stalker heavy armies and having quite the success
I mean, stalkers do 9,7 dps to roaches compared to the 8 dps roaches do to stalkers..
But those 65 HP more + fast regen when burrowed (if you have it) really make it one-sided in a head-on fight, plus the usual tactic of running / shooting with stalkers doesn't really work.
Plus they cost like, half of a stalker

I think it's just to nerf force fielding ramps a little bit, I don't think it will make that big of a difference. I guess they'll get a few more shots off when being used as a shield for hydras as well.

Are there any good day 9s on zerg? The only way I can win is by double gas stealing, holding off the initial push with spinecrawl/queen and then killing them with mutas.

This does not work if the player has good micro.

    I suck with zerg.

There are a few, I liked the recent one on drone timing. And then there are two more a few weeks back where he tried to learn Zerg in 2 shows in a row.

Psy's youtube channel is also pretty good for Zergs, lots of VODs.

The most common FE build against Zerg that I have seen lately is the pylon+cannon block at the bottom of the ramp. Against Terran 1gate FE is pretty common ala this: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=142887

most of the losses werent macro related. several were, but it was like 2-1 cheese-getting outplayed/outmacroed.

its amazing how a couple of quick losses to well-executed cheese has you doing stupid shit. won a couple games with plain old macro focus at the end, so i went to bed pissed off, but not ready to destroy every computer in the house.

i know, and the ocassional cheese game will beat ya. started off with a gold canon rushing. too solid before i could do a damn thing about it. then a double barracks proxy, that i scouted and said "damn either this guy sucks ass or i'm about to be proxyd". Yeh, lost that. Then an 8 pool. Again, I scouted it, and just didnt react properly. Then some terran medivac drops. Then the two new maps, first time on, and i tried to be cutesy on both.

Finally won a couple of normal build, normal macro games.

lost to a terran who just pumped vikings on scrap, while i pumped VRs. that was instant death.

then i played a toss on scrap and double gate zealot proxied him while he was going VRs. I won that pretty easily, as he didnt have shit except canons and a vr by the time i was running zealots at him. i didnt even bother with getting any gas until after i had 4 proxy gates up, and decided i needed to take down that one VR.

just a frustrating night. last week for me marathoning games consistently, and i violated just about every self-imposed rule about playing on the ladder... eg. don't play games after 1 am. i didnt start until after 1 am. don't try to get cute, just produce... yeh, i failed that several games. i mis-scouted, and didnt react the right way when i saw something obvious. i didnt stick with my plans.

just a stupid, stupid night on ladder. tonight is joe's "back to basics" night. grumble grumble.
