as of like 2 weeks ago, sites that required a secure connection from me seemed to stop working. the sites that lost all functionality were important things like my bank's website, my phone company's website, the website of the bank I pay my loans to, my email...all things I would like to be able to see.
also, programs like dropbox and msn have very limited/no functionality as well, with the same symptoms
frustrated, today I formatted my computer, only to find that the problem persisted. feeling at this point like it was a router or network card issue, I set my computer to be in the DMZ of my router, and the websites in question started working. can someone help me figure out how I could use these websites and programs WITHOUT opening 100% of my ports?
EDIT- I turned DMZ off and not only does everything still work, it fixed another problem that started by formatting. Technology is a fickle mistress.
