I live in the UK (if this matters at all to the problem) and have bought an 02 dongle pay as you go USB thingie to provide my internet. However, this seems to not like me trying to read E-Mails on Hotmail. I can access my account, see my inbox, but it will not let me open my mail. It also gets freaky about certain buttons on other websites and acts like I have clicked nothing.
For hotmail, the bottom of the screen just says javascript:; - Javascript is enabled according to my Firefox options. What can I do to actually read my E-Mails?
Note: It started like this, and then went through a period whereby I had no issue accessing hotmail at all, and then since re-installing my OS, this has become an issue.
It may be not the dongle at all, but my internet settings that are causing the issue, but I wouldnt know where to begin looking to try and fix this. It annoys the life out of me that I can see I have an important message and not read it.
Tried downloading IE8 but i'm not sure where it gets put. Theres no files in the 'Internet Explorer' folder that I can run. Theres a MUI file that I can't open. I've tried a couple of times now. It's there on my 'add/remove programs list' but i can't find the damn thing.
So thats a problem.
Another unrelated issue, but i don't want to open a new tech support thread - for some reason, I can no longer play .AVI files on media player. The file displays the .AVI logo, but Media player just says 'acquiring codec' and then just plays dialogue as if it is a sound file. I've reinstalled media player but this hasnt helped. How can I sort this??
