so websense, hellish guardian of my employers internets (and a few places my friends work for) now flags the PA forums as 'games', blocking them. this makes my lunch hour suddenly very boring.

anything i can do to get it back without playing a deadly game of cat and mouse with my systems department and some proxy servers?

Other than politely requesting your IT department exclude it (if they even can with websense) or petitioning with Websense to be more sensible, I don't think there's anything you can do.

That or browse it on a web capable phone if you have one.

Yeah, you're kind of stuck, apparently it got recently re-categorized to "gaming" while the main site stayed under "entertainment".

Yeah, back when our company used to use websense PA would get blocked from time to time. It kind of came and went every few months.

Other than waiting it out, there isn't much you can do without breaking some major rules.

somehow spamming the link on my favorites has got me here. one time in 20 there seems to be a gap in its armour and i can get in and stay in.

option B is my psp, our wireless is poor here though and most annoyingly you can't open spoiler tags with the browser...

Speak to your IT department. They're usually pretty good people. Chances are they might be able to do something (unless their hands are tied by management)

Your IT department probably already knows of your predicament if they're watching their WS logs

Chat one of 'em up; we're not bad people

We're not ALL bad people, but be forewarned that going up to someone in the IT department and asking them to unblock a forum so you can chat online might not end well.

I'm not saying they're going to rat you out, just don't expect a miracle.

Disclaimer: I'm in an IT department as well.

Also in IT, take it up with your department. If they say no, you're hooped, and Rules on this forum say we're not going to help you circumvent your IT department.
