Backstory: As part of getting my CPA, I need to have 150 hours of college credit. I thought I had this, but upon adding up my hours on my transcript I fall 2 short! I only have 148!
What I'm looking for is a suggestion of an online college that lets me take classes at my own speed (i.e. I could knock it out ASAP instead of waiting for the whole 4 months of the semester)
Preferably I would be able to get 2 credits done (it doesn't matter what class, just needs to be 2 college credits from an accredited college) within a month.
Any suggestions on how I could do this would be super appreciated!
Do you have any community colleges nearby? They often have 2 credit, 3 credit courses as well as the "normal" 5 credit courses. (I'm talking about quarter credits, BTW. If you need semester credits, uh, I think 1 quarter credit equals 1.5 semester credits.)
Can it be a course in literally ANYTHING? The community college I used to go to had some really easy low credit courses, like "Learning Microsoft Access" (course was "do the homework at your own pace"--I finished everything in a week) or for fitness classes (which basically just gave the students gym access.
Seconding the community college, but there is no promise you can knock out all the coursework at once unless you can check ratemyprofessor's info.
Also remember that even if you do get the coursework done in a day, you wont receive the credits until the end of the term. You may want to look at a short term class.
What you want is a school that offers a dynamically dated course, in other words it runs for only five or eight weeks. Most of the community colleges here in AZ offer them, even on-line, so I would check out your local community colleges and see if you can find one there.
Also 1 quarter hour does not equal 1.5 semester hours. If anything 1 quarter hour is less then half a semester hour. Just FYI.

'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
You should really check directly with your state board of accountancy about the specific requirements for your state. Send them an e-mail, they'll likely be responsive.
Just to make sure a course from a private online institution will be accepted.
Online courses from a real school most certainly will, though.

I'm doing a masters through U of Oklahoma, and they offer a few courses in 7 days. Basically go to class 6-9pm Tues-Friday and all day Sat/Sun and bam done.
