On Lost temple, close cliff positions. I fast expanded via standard opening -> PF at Expansion, and two bunkers to make a long 'wall'. He scouted me early, then tried to blind baneling bust me, after the PF was up and two bunkers full of marines were there. That didn't work. We both macro up. I get 2 rax MM, 1 fact Thor, 1 Port Medvacs. He goes for mass speedling/infestor/Ultralisk. He hits 200 food, tries a push, loses all his infestors. Hits 200 again, morphs 20 banelings to blow a hole through a bunker, then suicides his army down to 90 food just killing the PF. I landed the 4th base I'd built as it was floating over it just then and kept mining. Right around that third attack I tech switched to 3 port Battlecruiser. Then proceeded to push his shit in.
As I won the penultimate battle, he said:
I really
don't believe
what I just fucking saw
im ON FIVE BASES, but you won since you have BCs
such bullshit, i hate terran
Then he proceeded to use his 11k mineral stockpile and leftover drones and build hatches alllll over the map. I had fun hunting them down.
I like slightly upping their gas requirement
You should have to build reapers and morph them into marauders too and it should take agonizingly long to do so
I don't think the issue was BCs, I think the issue was his godawful macro. BUILD MOAR HATCHERIES AND QUEENS AND JUST MAKE 100 FOOD ARMIES EVERY 40 SECONDS
In any case, nice to have a win to polish off the evening.

Highlights: barely hold off a marauder army without stim. This happens after I decimated his initial push and only lost a zealot. I three gate expanded while he holed up on one base with only TWO barracks. Made a third long after I was on three gates and my expansion was running. Still barely hold off his push W/O stim. He actually finishes the research around the time of the push and then uses it once, after he was already winning. I even got PLENTY of forcefields off. He was floating around 1600 minerals around the time of the push while I was staying low (I go up over 1000 minerals by the end of the engagement due to panic mode/dealing with his pressure). I fail to see how it's balanced that:
1) He has one less barracks than I have gateway for a significant period of time.
2)I gain a significant advantage early game with his failed push.
3)I have an expansion up and running and keeping my money low
4)He piles up 1600 minerals at the time of his push.
5)And he almost beats me.
I'm sorry but this just feeds into my opinion that marauders are too good through a combination of:
a)strength
b)mobility/stim/concussive shell
c)low cost
d)fast build time (30s for christ sakes, that faster than the warpgate cooldown for a zealot!)
I got left in the last thread so im reposting for advice.

You stopped building units during the second push. I think you probably could've supported another Gateway or two, or some Immortals.
In my opinion you had way too many Zealots and not enough Stalkers. Pre-Charge, it's really the Stalkers that do the damage to MM. Zealots are there to be meatshields. When you're trapping Marauders with Forcefield, your Zealots can't get a surround, so only 2-3 of them are actually doing any damage.
edit: also, Guardian Shield still reduces Marauder damage vs Zealots by 20% (more to HP damage). I think people underuse it.
you pretty much nutstomped him, and like everyone was saying, if you had more than four friggin stalkers you might have an easier time
I was really down to my last dollar there for a while.
I just beat a thor heavy build using infestor / ling, whoooooo.

yayyyy.
For the record I play way better at night. I honestly couldn't believe how terrible I was playing early today.
Me too. I go like 40% while the sun is up, but after 10-11 p.m. I have like a 75% win rate.
It's weird.
Oh, hahah. I was under the assumption that Boxer's name was Ellenpage, so I only looked in that group. I see now that that is not Boxer's name, contrary to prior reports.

I think that's his US ladder name.
Clide and HopeTorture both have TvT's first up, I'm looking forward to those.
Then once I qualified (to plat), the gameplay from everybody jumped leaps and bounds. It was a completely different game from pre-to-post qualifiers. Same with 3v3.
Ellenpage is fake boxer. Who also qualified. We could get fake boxer versus real boxer!
I've gotten my timing down for fast Charge pretty well just by doing it over and over in random 4v4s :P

I feel like I dont know timings or counters well at all with zerg. Banelings seem to rape me, but if I build them, they just get shot dead before doing much. Is there a baneling speed upgrade? Is it needed?
I find that I skip hydras often. I feel like mutas work well as a massed DPS unit (with their bounces) and are harder to kill, easier to harass with. Roach for tanking with microing mutas so they dont die seems to be my best bet. Plus if you focus down any AA units, you can then clean up with the mutas.
When should I upgrade to lair? Before or after my second hatch?
I dont GET speedlings. People talk about how necissary they are, but forcing myself to get/use them seems to handicap me hard. Is there a list of units targeting priority? Should I hit with my roaches FIRST then run my lings passed for a surround?
How do you guys manage creep spread, do you just try to rremember and then manually click each creep and toss down another? I try to get a second queen out pretty quick for creep and possible defense. This may be a bad idea, I dont know.
Muta harass is fun. My god, I didnt realize how quick a group of 6 mutas can take down scvs. I was all "oh he sees my mutas, ill try to one shot an scv before getting out of here." And next thing i knew, half his scvs were dead before his rines arrived to shoo me away.
Final note, playing zerg is strange. With other races, I feel like my bases are all contained, defended and organized. With zerg, I have completely unprotected bases all over and have to try to see and respond to attacks so I dont lose my hatches or queens. I guess thats why creep is so important. I think the absolute key to late game zerg play is good creep. That being said, im not sure how mnay times ive ever gotten to "late game" against a zerg...
Also, I miss probes and supply block myself far too often. I'm in low diamond league. YAERGH!!!!!
