The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I usually have around 20 to 30 mods installed for World of Warcraft, so obviously manually downloading and extracting each addon update is rather tiresome. The Curse.com Addon client will take care of this by itself, but I've read reports that this opens up more security risks.
My question is, will having an authenticator bypass the inherent risks in using Curse.com's client? I already have an authenticator by the way.
I have a feeling the majority of answers will be, "No, stay the hell away from it," but I'd like to read everybody's experience with whole deal.
I've never had an issue with curse itself. Sometimes the addons that are on there can be suspect, though. So long as you stay away from anything that clones keystrokes or allows you to multibox in some way, you'll probably be fine.
Having an authenticator is no guarantee of being hack proof but using curse probably doesn't increase your chances by any appreciable amount.
Most of the riskiness of the curse client are pretty inherently the risks from just browsing the web. The only thing really special is you wouldn't have the curse client unless you had some sort of MMO account as well.
Your WoW account shouldn't be in any real danger if you have an authenticator.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
