Sleeping problems and rhythm hacking

So I have a problem. My sleeping schedule is usually 9pm-5am because of work. I work 6:30am-noon on Saturday, then that night a good friend of mine is having her birthday party at a club from 11pm-4am. There is a one hour train ride and half an hour of subways each way. I also work 6:30am-2pm the following day (Sunday). Obviously, I won't be able to stay past 3ish, but I promised her I'd be there. Passing out during work will get me fired. I have no work Friday, so this is my "room" to fuck up my sleeping schedule so I can party and work right after.

The question is, should I just take some pills to knock me out cold mid-Saturday, allowing me to wake up around 9 to get ready for the party? What would you use in this case? (I'm 6'3" and a drinker, so a bottle of nyquil does little more than upset my stomach). Should I just fuck up my sleeping schedule by passing out now and going to bed earlier and earlier? Perhaps staying up for the next 12 hours even though I woke up at 5 this morning?

Any help would be appreciated!

Keep in mind that most OTC sleep medications heavily suggest that you get a full "night's" sleep (8+ hours) on the medication (so you'd likely be sleeping from when you get home from work to when you need to leave). Unfortunately I can't actually recommend any because I've never taken any.

If it were me I would probably just try to sleep after getting home from work (potentially with a run, big meal or something else to get you tired). Depending on how well you do naps, you may be able to get by with 4-5 hours of sleep before leaving and a short nap on the train ride back (or you could leave slightly earlier and try to get an hour or so at your home).

I prefer to wake up right before work; working until right before you go to bed is a huge pain (in this case, if you wake up at 9pm you'll only have been awake 15 hours when you get done with work at 2pm).

I could see taking a whole bunch of sleeping medication shortly before going out and partying at a club for hours as being a bad thing. I'd just zombie it up for the next 12 hours, since you don't really have time to shift your sleeping schedule gradually.

    - sleep in as late as you can on friday, preferably by staying up into the wee morning hours
    - don't sleep on friday night
    - be tired at work. you won't pass out
    - go home, close the door and the shades and turn the lights out. set your alarm for PARTY TIME!

Everything I have ever read has said you can't "bank" sleep. Just doesn't work. You can catch up on sleep though. Plan on plenty of Red Bull on Sat and sleep as soon as you get done with work on Sunday. you should also nap after work and before the party on Saturday. It will be rough, but if you understand you will be running probably at about 40% till Tuesday, you should be ok.

You can't catch up on sleep beforehand. Taking the pills would make you drowsy for the party. And, throwing alcohol in with that is never a good idea. Prepare to be tired the next day. Red Bull or Monster is good for a few hours. 5 hr energy is also nice for a few hours. But once those go away, you're pretty much done. Too much caffeine will knock you out, similar to a sedative.

If you haven't already asked for, and been denied, the following day off, I would do that. Or call in sick that next day if you have that option. Again, don't do that if you've already asked for the day off and can't get it.
