Really Slow PC Games

Hey everybody

Well all of a sudden whenever I play a game(Most notably Team Fortress 2) the game starts to get really slow. Its not necessarily choppy but as if the game was moving in slow motion is more accurate of a description. This happens even when I play offline. My computer could run it totally fine on high settings and lowering the graphics doesn't seem to make a difference.

Ok well if anyone could help with this it would be great

Oh and I did defrag Team Fortress 2 and no dice

I could probably guess this, but you may have some overheating issues.

Spyware & virus check. Could be something running in the background, sucking up all of your RAMs.

Go through all the usual fixes first like updating your graphics card drivers. You would be surprised how often this fixes the problem.

Well I opened my case dusted it and moved it to a more air ventilated spot and now it works mostly fine.

I also clicked pretty much every maintenance related program too.

To be honest I'm not sure it was heat related due to the case being relatively cool, but hey I'm not complaining.

    Thanks you guys =D

Try this, open up task manager (ctrl+alt+del) and go to performance. Check the average % used. Now keep it open, open up TF2, join a server, then quit and see what it jumps to. Basically see if it's your processor that's bottlenecking your computer.
