CNAME - am I doing it incorrectly?

Hi folks,

I'm trying to get a website up for my woodworking business, and I just want some feedback as to whether or not I did the CNAME change correctly.

I previously had the domain registered with 1and1 and a dinky website setup with microsoft live.

Since then I've changed to page.ly and purchased a nice template and had fleshed a decent part of the site out using the temp name they provided. My issue comes with if I did the CNAME setup correctly as page.ly's instructions were a bit vague.
BEFORE you switch to live mode do 1 (and only 1) of these options below:

    * 1. DNS/Email NOT hosted here: Create CNAMEs at your host
      mywebsitename.com CNAME host1.pagely.com
      www. CNAME mywebsitename.com

    * 2. DNS/Email NOT hosted here: Create an A record and a CNAME at your host
      mywebsitename.com A 67.210.229.97
      www. CNAME mywebsitename.com

Under the 1and1 control panel, I reset all the DNS settings (previous CNAME was pointing to officelive), and changed the CNAME to [host1.pagely.com] as well as the IP address to the one listed above.

Am I correct in assuming that's all I have to do, and now just wait for DNS to update? I did this about 15 hours ago and still haven't seen an update, which is what had me concerned it was done incorrectly.

If it's Olvera Woodworks, it's working fine for me.

    www.olverawoodworks.com resolves to 67.210.229.97
host1.pagely.com resolves to the same IP, 67.210.229.97

Are you still having a problem? You probably just need to reboot your computer or something.

    Thanks for checking!

It started working correctly, but now about an hour ago I'm seeing the very old website that I had. Just for reference, the new one has a spinning graphic on the front, and the old one is blatantly unfinished.

It's odd that I was seeing the correct one, then all of a sudden it reverted back to the old cruddy one. I'm hoping DNS updates itself over night.

It's the one with the spinning photo display.

Clear your DNS cache. Are you on Windows? Open a CMD prompt and run ipconfig /flushdns

    Then clear your browser cache.

See if you're still having a problem.

From what I can see, though, your DNS is fine.

Sometimes you may also have to wait for your ISP DNS to catch up, or you were using an up to date DNS and your fallback DNS server hasn't caught up.

For the record I also see spinny menu.
