Suggestions for a portable music player with a delete function?
So a weird omission from popular music players like iPods and Walkmans is the ability to delete songs off of the device without connecting to a computer. I suppose it messes with the synching software but it's annoying hearing a song that doesn't do it for you after multiple listens and not being able to bin it right then and there. Ironically it's the el-cheapo players that usually support this but the usability/build quality tends to suck.
Can anyone recommend a reasonably well-regarded music player that can delete songs without a PC? I usually don't have more than 8GB of music loaded at a time.
ipod touches can delete songs straight from the device.
You just swipe your finger across the bar in the ipod app and a delete button appears

Most older iPods (everything up to 5g Video and Nano 2g) can run rockbox, and that OS has a decent file manager, which can delete music (and any arbitrary files from the device) create folders, cut/copy/paste, the whole kit and kaboodle.
Thanks guys, I ended up going with a Sansa Clip+ 4GB which supports Rockbox and has a microSD expansion slot. Pretty amazing what $40 gets you nowadays.
