I lost my fucking head on Salvia. What now?

The other night I did 3 hits of 40x salvia. The next 20 mins was right out of a Hunter S.Thompson novel, gone fishing, toys in the addic crazy... I didn't really know what I was doing so I became very paranoid and I pretty much went insane. An odd side effect I had was that it triggered my Vertigo which I get occasionally. I'm still dizzy.
What are peoples experience with Salvia? Is it dangerous? Any recommendations or ideas on what I possibly did 'wrong' ?
In case you don't know, Salvia is a concentrated Sage plant that's completely legal. I just want some more info about it.
