Hah, beautiful snipe of the PF+basedrop.

Then ultras to clean up. He really shouldn't be able to lose now.

Insane defense from MVP there, he delayed that game far longer than should have been possible.

He has a good chance to take the next game, although zenio did some us some tricks there.

I saw the vikings coming, but as he had so many marauders my plan was to phase out colossi production and not counter with stalkers in favour of mass chargelot.

Warped in a few stalkers to deal with his viking snipes.

He'd have wiped out your army and your third base if he hadn't thrown away his vikings. Take from that what you will.

Zenio doing a good job of showing us how to throw away a huge lead.

Not decided yet though, but damn if MVP ain't looking better by the moment.

Nevermind. Zenio just rolled him in the end :P.

I'd like to see some Protosses in the last rounds too, but I feel like P isn't really a strong race right now.

I start work at 16:00 monday-thursday, and got fridays off! So GSL is right up my schedule timewise, as most people I know have daytime jobs anyway :P.

Toss isn't weak as much as it feels like the least developed race playtstylewise. People keep trying these silly cheese builds like DTs or void rays for some reason, although that might be indicative of being weaker :P.

That guy creeps me out man, stop creeping me out.

it's phanto. he is not a sun, but he is probably related (cousin?) to the sun that chases you in desert levels in another mario game.....

I changed avatars from hazama to him in the spirit of halloween. also it's my steam ID avatar.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Zerg really had a revival now but FruitDealer still kicked ass before the roach buff, it's more that people get new ideas. It's neat that the game is evolving playstyle wise. First it was OPTerranlulz 1TA, then the 4gate and now Zergs are really popular.

I predict that the next step will be quick Ravens and the circle is complete.

People keep trying to one base on far positions against zerg, and it just seems to be a really bad idea now.

Against very good zergs at least.

These days I only push zergs if they invest a lot in mutas.

Otherwise just expand, build a billion units and ball them. The problem is when zergs realise this and then expand everywhere. Still no solution to that early on!

Collossi/stalker/templar/zealot/immortal ball backed up by a ton of warpgates to replenish zealots as they die on droves pretty much destroys zerg completely. If your zealots die and you don't have new ones you die horribly against ultras though :P.

Getting there is the tricky part!

It seems there are way more zerg this gsl in the qualifier. Like every day there's 3 of them or something. Fruitdealer showing everyone how to play Zerg and to abuse their mobility and macro *shudder*.

Through to the Ro16 so far are 6 Zerg, 3 Terran, 1 Protoss.

edit: possible that there will be 9 Zergs in the Ro16. FruitDealer hasn't even played yet.

Remember that there's no disconnect stat as in SC1. That's blizzards way of telling you it's ok to pull the ethernet cable.

I think everyone just isn't used to playing zerg yet. Zerg players are just starting to get good at zerg and toss and terran suddenly realize they have to play better than ball up your (stalkers/colossus/zealots/templar) or (MMM/thor/helions) and a-move to win.

Zerg has to make sure they have good unit comps, get good surrounds, make sure they fight in the open so they aren't choked, and harass and contain with mutalisks all while macro'ing up to many expansions. The other races will start to have to prepare to fight in a similar fashion using their tools instead of just contently turtling on 2-bases and waiting til they have thors or colossus to a-move.

Yes, but there was a third stat for disconnects in SC1. Having 2000 "losses" makes you a bad player, having 2000 disconnects makes you an asshole.

Having more than a dozen disconnects pretty much guaranteed that you would have no one playing you in SC1.

A moving colossi/stalker was always a pretty bad idea unless the zerg was really bad to be honest. And a-moving zealots with templar is a really nice way to lose most of your zealots while the zerg runs away.

And a zerg doesn't even have to be very active with mutas to contain a toss, do a few attacks and then just attack whenever he moves away from his mineral line/edges of his base. That combined with speedlings in earlygame gives zergs pretty much complete map control.

Someone needs to figure out how to play toss properly I suppose, it really should be possible to do better than they are atm. But zerg never had as large a disadvantage as you make it seem, it just happens to be the hardest race to play.

If you're toss, and you're having problems with a small group of mutas, get 1-2 pheonix. Just like in sc1, you got enough corsairs to just melt his muta's face, and then the harass potential is done.

Just turtle up and let the zerg come to you, or nonstop constant pressure. Hit those drones, if they have to remake drones they're not making units.

Like I would make a reaper or two, and send them straight to drones. Ignore the tech buildings, hit the drones.

Or, if you get blue flame hellions you can actually 1-2 shot larva as well as drones.
