I saw this the other day and got a chuckle out of it. Also apparently D9 is returning to the State of the Game podcast today? I'm pretty sure it was moving to tuesday just so he could start joining it again.
I enjoy reading these threads in class, as it's like listening to a bunch of guys in the other room talking about a random sports game on TV and I'm all like.
Quiet you guys I'm working here!
It's amusing.

I tried infestor speedling in a really back and forth ladder game.
In the end I died to about 10 banshees,
No opportunity to transition into Mutalisks? A few of the times I've played zerg I've tried that very fast infestor/speedling play that Xenic recommended and really it's designed to give you the time to come up with the unit you need to really punish their main thrust.
I don't understand why you would use infestors to buy time for a different unit comp, though. You could have any other mid game unit by the time you get infestors, but good infestor micro handles just about anything.
I'm thinking of supplementing the infestor/speedling with mass queens pumped out of 2 hatches non-stop, that ought to shore up the anti-air weakness.

I made a game! Hotline Maui. Requires mouse and keyboard.

Well, obviously it depends on the game. If the terran I was facing started going mass air, I'd much rather transition to something like Muta/Corruptor after holding off the initial assault than trying to just handle it with fungals.
What I like about the speedling/infestor opening is it allows you to tech quickly while still staying strong, giving you the option to transition up to hive without any delay. Fast Brolords or Ultras can surprise the shit out of your opponent, not to mention unlocking the third tier of upgrades.
Whenever I see ghosts in my PvT's I cower in fear. No other unit has the ability to make my army feel so... impotent (Except for maybe a raven if I have too many stalkers).
I mean if I'm rolling a pretty standard Collosus/Zealot/Sentry mix, it completely nullifies my ability to zone off enemies with forcefields which is the main reason collosus are so damn powerful.
The worst army I can even imagine would be composed of a ton of marauders and like, 2-3 ghosts.
For the Zerg players out there. In ZvZ is there anything other than whoever has the most roaches wins in early game?
No
how about make like a million spine crawlers and tech / expand? i bet it could work, except of course for the fact that it's kinda weird and probably sucks.
God the kids are whiny nowadays. Midgame I realize i have too much cash and make 12 mutas to harass this Terran with. This is the only batch I make and they are slowly whittled down because I don't really care. I then roll in with 30 roaches and 30 hydras and roflstomp him from my 4 bases vs 2. His respons is "GG mass muta asshole". I...ah...wut?
Another dude said to me "Meh, If I had only had more bases and played better I would have won". Well...yes?
Now that my race-experimenting college days are over and I'm back in camp Zerg again I can't wait to climb back up to diamond. The hood down here has gone straight to hell.
My Z experimenting days are in full swing. I'm still in the Toss state of mind where 2 basing can be perfectly acceptable. I'm having troubles on some maps with taking and holding the 3rd and 4th base. I'm thinking I need to maintain greater map control with roving muta squads. Tips for making me zergier?

Then he rolls in with a billion mutas and slaughters you because you're stuck on one base while he's pumping out fifty food every production cycle.
The only thing I can think of is to find a way to get ling speed up faster than he can build seven roaches off a 10-pool. And even then you're screwed if he goes baneling instead.

The key is to be everywhere. You will have great map control just from the creep tumors (extremely important), overlord spread and the speedlings. When you see a third base go up, take it down. Don't be afraid of attack-moving a group of speedlings on a suicide mission into and exp without looking, because at the same time you're microing your ass off with your main force. I don't know how many games I've won on those moves.
Zerg play is all about swarming the fuck out of every map, and quick tech switches.
The hardest part is learning when to drone and when to get more army. That just takes a lot of losses to learn I'm afraid and I still suck at that aspect.
But there are plenty of better Zergs here that will have other input I guess. :P

It is a really safe way to hit hive tech at, like, 12 minutes.

Supposedly last nights was extremely entertaining, but I haven't watched it yet.
