Heh, sorry guys, I'm already working on the rest of the stable in preparation for AE. Guile, Adon and Hakan.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
Argh I miss playing this so much. I might just pick it up and suffer using a controller for awhile if I can't scrape up the cash to get a ps3 stick. Atleast the dual shock is alot better than the 360 controller is for fighting games, so there is that lol.
Also what's up in terms of an update or something? I've been out of the loop for a long time...life has not been kind to me of late, had alot of shit to deal with.

I've never met a Makoto who just wrecked my shit, but every time I see her get picked I feel a prickle of dread. I've just been lucky that so far, people who've picked her are trying for C to Shining C.
If I ever run across someone who seriously mains her, I will have no idea what to do.
Makato reminds me a lot of Abel, being fairly dependent on mixups and such for her damage... except Abel has more health, better damage, and easier setups for his mixups (practically every combo finish/reset leads to an untechable knockdown with Abel... and the few combos that don't allow for a step kick). Abel is also less execution intensive than Makato with kara-kara's and instant overheads to worry about.
Makato can be played solidly but she has to do far more 'work' for her V's than similar characters IMO.
Man any good player can make any character LOOK good, but Makoto is still really shit.
It's a fact proven in labs by scientists.
Why is she shit? Quantify it.
Is it because she doesn't have a viable reversal? Plenty of characters have this issue.
She has an extremely good poke. She has very high dmg and stun combos, and if you guess wrong she can end the match easily. Her ultra 1 is easy to combo into, she has good anti air normals, and provided the player has put in time with her she has a decent post hayate mixup that she can play.
She isn't a brain dead character that can spam moves and get wins, but does that really make a good character?
Honestly, what is it that makes a character good? IMO what makes a character good is the player. I mean, this isn't third strike, and she isn't Sean.

Naw, it's 50/50. Kind like how a good smith needs good tools and all that.
srsly. Her awful walk speed means you need to jump or dash. If the other player has a projectile or so much as a chainable jab, your dash isn't going anygoddamnwhere.
She has no good wakeup options, unless you consider EX orochi "good". She has poor armor breaking options, poor tools for dealing with fireballs, and her best feature (karakusa) routinely loses to regular throws due to its terrible range and sluggish startup.
Her good stun and excellent MP mean a great player can win with her, but that doesn't mean her matchups are any better.

I want to first say that this game overall is really well balanced. She's shit in relative terms compared to Honda or Ryu or Chun, but the gap isn't nearly as wide as say 3rd Strike Ken/Chun and Sean.
Her footsies game lacks any solid follow ups. Her specials are all punishable or 0 on block. Her specials have slow startups and shitty hit boxes. Her specials have shitty range. No really good reliable anti air. She has 900 health and is one of the slowest characters, dash excluded.
The AE changes will definitely make her much more on par with the rest of the cast, but in Super she lacks a lot of the tools that others have. Yes, she isn't Sean, but she's still on the bottom rung of the cast.
No matter how good the player is the character poses some limitations, some characters have more than others.
I feel a bit weird, I'm stepping away from a previous main and picking up new characters, two of whom have received buffs while the third has had adjustments up and down.
I just wanted to broaden my game.

Sweet match FT5 where Sako isn't using Cammy!
Sarcasm or really real question? Because well....
She sucks.
A lot.
Maybe she'll be not as shit-tastic after the update.

seems like ryu got DP trade into ultra now, and daigo is the first japanese player ive seen say that yun will be really good. Everyone else seem to have him at low mid tier or solid mid. On the other hand everyone seems to agree that Fei long is really really good now.
Ceterum autem censeo, Carthaginem esse delendam
Yay!
Lol. Maybe you should play someone who actually knows how to use her. Makoto is far from shit.
Look up matches of Bigdanmul, VRyu, or NinjaCW.
She's not top tier, but she is far from shit. Every single character is viable in this game. The player is what matters, not the character.

Though that's partly because I almost never see Makoto and don't really know much about fighting against her other than to try and protect your groin.

Unfortunately, many of the top tier characters in this game DO have good fireballs.
I'd say this is true if we were talking about super turbo, but plenty of characters can play against projectile throwers.
My favorite mike ross moment is when he started a match against daigo by focusing through a fireball into ochio.
This one is soooo 100 pages old.
