So I'm using a HD enclosure to get all my files off my hard drive before I format it. I'm looking for my favorites list in Firefox. Where the bajabbers is it?
I would like to put something clever and about me but I fear my company will find it
Not sure as to the actual save location but you can create a new saved version of bookmarks easily enough.
Go to Bookmarks:Manage Bookmarks and then File:Export and you can save an HTML document of all of them and your organization. Not sure how well it is read by programs other than firefox but its works great for firefox proper.
If you ever need to reload all bookmarks in firefox just go to Manage Bookmarks and then file import and import that file.

Yeah, it's likely in the following location:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.some random letters\Bookmarks.html

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?
what is a .js file? I couldn't find it under the file extension you said so I did a windows search for bookmark.
That's strange. .js files are javascript, usually. You should be able to open it with a standard text editor to examine it's contents. Don't double-click it, as it may execute a script that you may or may not want to start.
Edit: Here's a link describing where the bookmarks should be, as well as links at the bottom for what to do if you've lost them.

Ok. Load up firefox:
Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks
A window pops up.
File -> Export
El save.
Then import that file after you reinstall.
