So I'm running an old SR1901WM with XP (Yes it's fucking old and I don't have money to buy a new computer)
and as of two month ago, I had it reformatted by a professional.

Okay, so like two or more weeks ago, I got either this Malwarebytes or virus. and it is crazy. I can't access Steam, D: Malwarebytes, or YouPorn or Redtube.D:D:

I've downloaded all types of anti virus and I got rid of almost all of them except this thing. I can't do System Restore because all the check points are from this week.

So I need your help. What do I do?

What does it look like? What happens when you try to access Steam?

Like it tries to connect. But then it gives me that "We can't connect blah blah blah click to check to see how to fix this."

Does it give you any other symptoms? Popups, weird shit like that?

What happens if you try to launch MalwareBytes or run a virus scan? If it fails, try rebooting in safe mode and renaming the executable.

If you've cleaned all the nasties off and still can't connect, look in Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings and make sure it isn't set to look for a proxy server.

Are you able to access some sites and not others?

Harness the power of MSCONFIG and REGEDIT and task manager.

Run task manager and look at the processes running, if you see one you are unfamiliar with then google it.
malware crap usually is random characters ..usually could also be hiding as another legit process but worry about the random stuff first.

Once you identify one of these processes then go into regedit and find where the sytem references that process.. and then nuke that registry entry. Keep searching until that process doesnt show up anymore.

Then use MSconfig and go under startup. If your process is in there uncheck it and use that to find where the process is located so you can delete it from your local disk.

    WARNING.

You can really fuck shit up in your PC if you mess up your registry and play with MSCONFIG, if you have a friend who knows what to look for get him to do it and pay that person with beer and or food.

Also note that some malware enables a Proxy in your IE settings, and even after the malware is neutralized by a malwarebytes or another adware scanner, the proxy settings persist and screw stuff up. You can check this by opening IE, going to Tools, Internet Options, Connections Tab, Lan Settings button, then unchecking the "Use a proxy server..." checkbox.

It does the same thing to Firefox, so check both.

Not to mention checking out your HOSTS file to see if there is anything added to it.
