Installing a previously used hard drive

A few months ago, my hard drive crapped out. It was a 160 RAID 0 array, and basically what happened is one of the disks broke internally (making that clicky sound of death noise). I'm finally getting around to getting my machine back up and running, and I was wondering if I would be able to use the non-broken drive as my primary drive.

So I disconnected the broken disk, and have been trying to get the computer to recognize the other one as my primary, however in the BIOS screen I'm unable to get it automatically recognized. If I let it pass through BIOS, the computer is still recognizing it as the broken RAID array, and I can't reconfigure it to be recognized as a separate HD.

Do I need to use a boot disk to format the old drive before I attempt to get it recognized in the BIOS, or should I do anything else?

I used to be into the whole computer thing so I have a basic knowledge of what I have to do, but I've been out of it for a while so I'm not entirely sure what I need to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

With it attached to the RAID 0 controller, go into the controller BIOS and delete the RAID 0 array. Once the RAID controller sets it back as a regular disk you should be able to format it.

Thanks, I deleted the array, and it put the hard drive in its own array, but unfortunately when I go into CMOS it won't autodetect the drive, and when I input the info manually and reboot, it still can't see the drive.

    Any suggestions?
