It was said earlier in the thread that grades seem to increase faster in custom games rather than ranked matches. After jumping from grade 2 to grade 5 in 30 minutes of custom matches, I'm here to confirm that.

Also, Harbinger is still awesome. That is all.

    Yikes, page 3!

So I got the champion bundle. I am really digging on the spear master. I've been looking for one bloodline to focus on and master and be known as "that guy who plays that bloodline".

I really think the spear master is it. He's really good in conquest or artifact, I've just gotta get better with him in arena.

Same. If I get their melee DPS and ranged DPS on me, I'm screwed. The SM just doesn't have enough solid evac abilities to not get murdered in that situation.

Although, he is just about the only melee DPS who is able to take on a tank in my experience. Harby is close, but with the heal ability down he is made of glass. SM has enough front loading abilities and rapid incap's that he can go toe to toe with just about anything.

Only thing I habitually die to without applying much damage is the Gunner. I absolutely hate the gunner.

    Seriously. Fuck the gunner.

I want to play more games that have more than 3 people. In 3 v 3 it doesn't seem like battlelines get drawn as often, so there aren't fringes you can hunt around.

Spearmaster is said to have the highest skill ceiling out of all the bloodlines. It's more about the metagame of when to jump into the fray than any skill combo.

The top Euro team basically uses the SM as a tank (with alch and igniter), there's videos out there of him jumping in and avoiding damage to the point he doesn't even need a healer. Fortunately I don't have to worry about that, as most ppl seem to play SM like every other melee dps.

I feel really similar about the SM as I do the Guardian.

Both can deal great damage in the thick of fighting, but once you start getting focused on, don't have the 'get out of jail free' cards other bloodlines have.

    SunBhie - Vanguard
    Hybr1d - Inhibitor
    Iverson - Ravener
    Malakor - Herald
    chipshajen - Alchemist
    yeahokbud - Gunner/Herald

Been playing the inhibit5or and getting the hang of the game. One problem to me seems that the blood coin system seems a bit of a joke. I just won a match 3-0 and got 48 blood coins for it, which is about .3% of the way to a new bloodline, even with achievements I'm only 20% of the way there. I feel bad complaining about a free game but at the same time the bloodcoins seem kinda useless. Also I don't think I've ever seen anyone use the rez ability in game yet.

I use res all the time. Whenever some jackass decides he wants to just run around like an idiot in a 2v1 I just walk over and res. Because they're wasting my time.

Also note that there is actually a cap on how many bloodcoins you can earn. It seems that it's impossible to get more than 1 champion every ~2 weeks.

The first BL is easily gettable in a week. After that, it'll be about every 1.88 weeks, but that seems very reasonable, since you shouldn't be going through BLs that quickly. It takes much more than 2 weeks to master a BL.

A week? There's a 9k bloodcoin cap. You'd need another 8k in achievements. Possible, but not easy.

Unless you mean a real world week, since the BLC week ends on Wednesday. Even then.

Yeah, with how fast the games are, it certainly feels like you put in way more effort than a similar length of time in LoL.

Not that this is a bad thing, I really enjoy the more intense nature of the playstyle. It just means I can't doze out and grind a couple hours worth of matches.

Like Avynte is saying, I think it's mostly psychological. If you actually calculate it out...
To buy a 6300 IP champion in LoL (the majority of champions in LoL are 6300, and the average IP cost has been rising steadily since beta), assuming 1/2 wins and 1/3 of wins are first of the day, then you have 114.166667 avg IP per game, so
    (6300 / 114.166667) * 45 minutes = 41.3868612 hours
To buy a 17k BL assuming you're always using the daily bonus, so about 70 BC average per match:
    (17000 / 70) * 8 minutes = 32.3809524 hours

Even if it took twice as long to unlock a character in BL, I still think it'd be worth it. First off, BLs have about twice as many abilities (counting EX, which you should be using!) as LoL champions. Maybe it's just me, but whenever I buy a champion in LoL...I feel disappointed. Like I got tired of Vlad in my first round as him. YOu can figure a champion out in a few games: For vlad you just use q and e (which you don't have to aim) whenever they're off cool down, throw your ult on a big group before the engagement, and pool when necessary (not to engage). There's just so little room for improvement. In BLC I feel like ever round I learn something new.

Also, you can buy outfits and cool shit with coins, which you can't do in LoL, which makes coins even more valuable.

Like I said before the system is fine but the advantage in LOL is that using your math I have the option to buy a champ after less than 4 hours of play and with a lot of intervals in between. I have personally never bought a 6300 champ in LoL as there are lots of options for champs i like for less. My complaint with bloodcoins is simply that having a handful of the bloodlines be say 8500 bloodcoins would make it seem less daunting to save up for the full price champs. Being able to buy skins and stuff with bloodcoins is a huge advantage over LoL's system though.

I very firmly believe that one of Stunlock's goals was to force people into buying the box set more often than LoL players do. You certainly can choose not to, get one champ in the first week or so and always have access to 4 more. But if you pick up the Champion pack, you essentially get 17/20 bloodlines (16 unlocked plus funcom cash enough to buy another). At that point you don't have a bloodcoin cap anymore, and you can start buying skins/titles or the last 3 bloodlines.

I don't really have lag problems. Even when I'm pinging 200 to a server, I'm not getting actual lag. They revised their netcode recently, and you really have to have about 300+ ping to start geting the warping and non-responsive stuff.

I can never tell the difference when I am pinging 50 to a server, or 191 (like last night).

I'll most likely cave on my next day off and buy the champion bundle. For those of us who have sent their inivisble internet dollars to Funcom, is it worth it to upgrade the bundle and get the four champions from the "Bloodlust" package?
