I think you're taking something he said on Day 1 that would be pretty obviously a lie too seriously. Or rather, even if it was true, you could discount it since there was no evidence either way.

Granted there is the Simonwolf and Jimtopia bandwagons, but I am not entirely convinced of the reasoning behind them; although, maybe I missed something in my sleepy state of mind.
