So the polls have closed, the election is over and in most places the dust has settled.
Highlights: O'Donnell loses big in Delaware but demands her opponent enact her policies, Reid hangs on in Nevada, pot smokers and eBay CEOs go down in California, and the new senator from Alaska is "Write-In".
Tragedies include the loss of the only senator smart enough to read the Patriot Act, Rand Paul going to the Senate, and that I will continue to have to drive outside the county to buy beer.
So as we prepare the way for our new GOP overlords, what will the House Dems be able to accomplish before they start handing out resumes to lobby firms and will the elected Tea Partiers fall in line with the mainstream GOP or will the GOP leadership have to roll for phobias on the insanity table?

Arapahoe - 11% reporting (I dunno wth is going on there) with bennet 49.2% 78.9k - buck 45.8% 73.5k
Boulder - 85% reporting with bennet 67.1% 80.2k - buck 28.5% 34.1k
San Miguel - 83% reporting with bennet 68.5% 2.1k - 25.3% .8k
So I'm hoping like hell bennet wins and we don't have a recount. This would be so much easier if 2.2% of the state didn't vote for the green party.
I worked my ass off yesterday so here's to hoping that I didn't just waste the last 2 months.
Florida was an almost total beating for the Dems, even though my local races turned out mostly the way I wanted them to. On the upside, the amendments turned out the way I wanted. Of note are amendments 5 and 6, which are meant to combat gerrymandering. This should make redistricting highly entertaining, as the GOP dominated legislature is sure to try to circumvent the new amendments to the constitution.

Which means the gay marriage prop 8 court decision won't be appealed.
(note: she's only up by a few 10s of thousands of votes, so you better believe there'll be a recount, but still).

Also, it will take something pretty astounding for Dino Rossi to pull out the win now. The half-million votes left to count in King County outnumber the untallied in the rest of the state almost 5 to 1, and if King County goes red then the end times are surely upon us.

Boehner already has quotes on record that he wants to shut the government down.
I don't think it'll be too hard to point that out.
There will be a big push from progressives for filibuster reform. Whether or not it goes through depends on the courage of democrats to do anything in the Senate. If it does, I would be pleasantly surprised.
There will be hearings on anything and everything in the House.
There will be an interesting leadership fight between the tea partiers and rank-and-file Republicans in the House.
While we are at it could someone explain whats going on in california with this:

So did the state actually vote in a good way to make it easier to pass the budget and then also fuck themselves some more by making it even HARDER to pass more taxes?
