    What?

No, fuck that, Will Smith and his children are national treasures.

    Mega64 hates America.

    really?

the entire video before that was just 20 seconds of dead air, "not actually a zombie" joke, 20 seconds of dead air, "not actually a zombie" joke, repeat

    like

there was one joke that was used 7 times and a throwaway line about Will Smith's children

those were the only jokes in this thing

It is a little slow, and could definitely use some work, but I enjoyed it overall. Tired of Will Smith as well.

Kastanj (et al) surmised this trend very well a few months ago:
    Kastanj wrote: »
Zombies are frightening and represent a very painful death. Horror, dread, fear and terror in spades.

They are a logistical and martial challenge that is interesting, while actual war these days has become complicated, technological, politically and morally challenging. That is, uninteresting.

Zombies cause an apocalyptic setting - they are not the only danger, but the environment they create is antagonistic as well. The apocalypse is always exciting, because it boils down life to either becoming a badass or dying (and thus no longer having to worry about being a badass) - none of the half-cooked or partial.

Zombies are interesting from a societal and geopolitical standpoint (see Max Brooks). Zombies are interesting enemies in themselves because they are humanoid enemies that still can't be sympathized with, and any qualms about killing them is window dressing. They remind us that humanity does not lie in the form.

I say all of the above makes for great videogames. In fact, I think the entire package is pretty alluring to a lot of modern people - males in particular.
    Also great article here.

You might also speculate this is the typical, cyclical, cultural 'blood-letting' of the movement into a new decade, as people attempt to deal with the kinds of fears that make more sense to them, rather than grappling with massive ideological hierarchies.

But that still wouldn't explain Rick Astley.

Not only is this video hilarious, but it makes a great point about most of our community taking a joke or reference and beating it intothe ground till its becomes so motherfucking annoying that you want to curbstomp every person who still uses it.

People at cons, like PAX or comic-con, or on message boards keep spouting the same references over and over like retarded Jeff Dunham puppets.

We played football against will smith's kid's team once. Joe Montana's son was their quarterback.

It is six and one half minutes. God forbid you ever have to accomplish anything that isn't just absorbing yourself, because some tasks might take twice that long.

This isn't a functional argument. This is literally the same as saying, "Piedmontese has no cultural value as a language, and I am Hitler, so I know all about accepting cultural diversity."

I'm sorry but Will Smith's daughter's song is terrible. So terrible. I haven't seen the Karate (Kung-fu) Kid yet so I'll reserve judgement on his son's acting ability till I do.

The concept wasn't bad; the execution was horrible.
