New comic! My interpretation of the business card scene from "American Psycho".
I'm going to go back to using color, I was thinking if I did it in just black and white I could put out more work but that both proved to be untrue as well as just feeling like a cop-out.
I have to be honest, my expectations are low whenever someone makes a "NEW WEBZCOMIK!" post. You have raised them. The jokes are well-written for three panels, and the art works well enough to not get in the way.
Obviously, hands are a point to work on- first panel of this latest one is uhhmm.. disturbing.
I appreciate the variety of facial expressions, but I feel like there's something fundamentally wrong about how your character's heads meet their necks. The effect is particularly pronounced on the girl.
Thanks! Hands are always a struggle sometimes I feel like I've really got em and then the next week I have no idea what I'm doing.
Also I will look into the head/neck thing. Overall I get that there's a lot of anatomy problems that are getting in the way that I need to iron out, hopefully I can just spend more time with it as I do more.
It was not the original intent, but nearing the end of the quarter we split into groups and half the class chose to use the animals to make a pop-up book, the other half decided to make them into tattoos and do a "history of tattoos" exhibit. The four styles were Old-School, Tribal, Eastern/Calligraphic, and Prison. Mine was a prison tat done in ballpoint pen lol.
Jajaja, that was really funny. I love your prints, did you print them your self or did a printshop did them? They look very proffessional. Amazing work.
All prints and mounting done by me, with the exception of the photograph on the bottom. That was a group project and the printing was done by someone else, I'm not sure if they went somewhere for it.
Bout to take a big 'ol art dump. A lot of process work for school projects inbound, and I finally inked another comic today. Pretty excited about my school work this quarter though!

Cover studies for a magazine about comics, called "Panels"
Icon studies for hotel signage. Semiotics are fun!
I like the icons, but I think the lock and key would be stronger without the cropping.
I've changed it a bit but part of why I cropped it is because part of my system dictates I crop stuff. I thought it looked better the other way too, but hey my professor prefers it that way
I actually had kind of a revelation on both lighting and a better way to color everything AFTER I had already finished it, but hopefully I will be able to apply this to my next piece and we'll see if it's an improvement.
Next goal: more dynamic angles, better lighting concepts.
Once thing I did notice when I was browsing around was that that ironman layout seems like that horizontal line should be a vertical one instead. It's going sideways, yet ironman's pose is one of someone that is slamming forcefully downward.
Ah, shit. I really should've pointed out that was a background I found from elsewhere, I just made the layout based on that. Unfortunately a lot of my project was based around displaying and glorifying other people's work, so I had to take images from everywhere.
Yeah although now that you mention it, it doesn't really make sense based on the pose and motion.
As for the pixel peoples thanks! I'm calling them Pixel Dudes or Pix Dudes maybe. I think Pix Dudes sounds like Pics, Nudes, though so I think I'll stick with the first. Unless anyone has a cooler suggestion?

Really gonna focus on linework for awhile, then color.
I haven't made it fully public yet(ie have only shown a handful of people), so consider yourselves part of my beta test.

Thanks for the input, I'm thinking of taking it away and just putting "Weapon X Program" above the whiteboard.
One thing I'm always open to is critique, that's why I post here before uploading to anywhere else.

Edit: Can't get the img tag to work right now for some reason, maybe it's just a tumblr thing? I will upload elsewhere and link later.
Edit2: Fix'd
Or not:

Kind of trying to keep this one mostly type-based.
