I have a problem, sorta. See whenever I play Steam games for some reason they get really, really quiet! Then when I go to the volume mixer(right click speaker icon -> volume mixer) Steam shows up but the bar is near the bottom (somewhere near 10%). I drag it back to 100% but when (like in L4D2) it loads a new level, Windows puts it back down to 10% again.
The first thing I'd try: in Windows, go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound: Manage Audio Devices, bring up the Communications tab, and set it to "Do nothing" when Windows detects communication activity. If that doesn't solve the problem (which it might not; I haven't experienced this precise issue), poke around through the properties of your playback device(s), and probably your microphone as well (could be some kind of weird interaction).
Hey, i'm having a audio problem too, with Dungeon Defender and Castle Crashers whenever i launch the game, if i have a video playing in the background it will make all my sounds come out of my speakers even if i have headphones in and i dont know how to fix it or where to post this because i literally just made this account because i really want this solved, any help is appreciated, thanks!
