Sarksus: what do you think of what you got to read so far?
I liked the second story more.
It's hard to explain. He created these characters in order to tell the story but at this point in time there wasn't really any life in the solar system. The characters are given odd names and their features are left ambiguous. They could simply be human beings but I also thought of them as gaseous that condensed into something more conventional when the Earth was created and they lived out extremely long lives (the reference to 1912 was very cool) as what might be human beings or approximations. The imagery of the sun condensing out of the nebula and leaving a wide gap where illuminated islands floated was great. It was a great creation story. I'm reminded of the beginning of Narnia when Aslan created it.
Yeah, the way that he creates characters that are simultaneously so human while also being completely inhuman is one of the greatest strengths I feel of his work. It's really quite amazing.
Glad to hear you are digging it.
Some of the language is contradictory to what's possible considering they're not familiar with anything that's happening. For example the concept of a cushion is impossible given their surprise at the condensation of the nebula and their lack of familiarity with what's happening. The reference to an egg is another obvious one. Though it doesn't make much sense it does add to the ambiguity of their nature. I feel like these stories could be picked apart and thought on for awhile.

I intend to participate in this. As you can see, the track that's meant to be remixed is freely available. I know the first thing I need to do is remove Sandstorm from it before I can do anything with Gilbert Gottfried's incredible voice, but uh... I don't even know if that's possible.
i was never into smashing pumpkins as a kid but i've been listening to some of their stuff recently
it's actually pretty unique and catchy. and strangely nostalgic, even though i've never listened to it(other than the butterfly wings single that played all the time)

it is the soundtrack of my adolescence
circumstances permitting it probably would have been mine too
but maybe it's also good that i can listen to it without summoning embarrassing youthful memories
By whose standards are they delicious? Does the fact they're unhealthy for you weigh into this decision at all. Should it? Do you really need the hot wings?

I need you to prove the hot wings until you order them, J.
oh my god you guys. stop feeding _J_ and help me make music.
but what kind of music? what constitutes music anyway, can't any sound be considered music, such as the sound of me typing? it would seem i am already making music because of you, Mori.

They are self-evidently delicious, in that hot wings contain the predicate "delicious".

The idea of hot wings is not the same as hot wings, Moriarty. We're not feeding him anything.

The music video for it is also like nostalgia overload
Aren't you doing homework or something?
