Yeah i thought this one was pretty good but its definitely not as good as, say, last week's or the halloween one or the pen episode. At least it was better then the kfc episode though.
It's awesome, yes, but not that surprising. It was Dan Harmon (and Rob Schrab) who were behind that meme-tastic "I cast magic missile at the darkness" audio skit from years and years ago. Dan's probably been counting down the hours until he could get away with putting D&D on a major broadcast network.

what, seriously?
that is blowing my mind
oh man, I wonder if they'll throw that line in there. that would be insane.

Yeah, Dan Harmon's been around for a looooong time. Wrote Heat Vision and Jack, the famed, failed, 1999 pilot with Jack Black and Owen Wilson. Wrote the underrated Monster House. Co-created The Sarah Silverman Program. One of the founders of Channel 101 (which led indirectly to the discoveries of The Lonely Island guys, Chad Vader, Kicked in the Nuts, and countless other interweb hits). Motherfucker's been churning out high-quality goodness for ages. After all, he's Dan Harmon, and he shits gold.

You mentioned all of that and didn't mention Yacht Rock?
I love that he thinks he went too far with this year's Halloween, because it really isn't one of this show's best episodes. Finally, a voice of reason. Screw the rest of you!

Yeah Community is best when it skirts the line between wierd and unbelieveable, like he said, and the Halloween one while funny crosses that line. Whereas Modern Warfare manages to somehow avoid that. Still looking forward to the DnD so much!

I love that he was blown away that the animators were celebrating getting four minutes of animation done in a week
and I'm sitting there thinking "how the fuck did they do four minutes in a week?"

How much do you wanna bet that, although internal strife through the game and external factors threaten to tear the group apart, in the end they learn a valuable lesson about the power of friendship

The people who make this show are very talented so I'm not gonna write this off until I see it but at this point in my life I could not give less of a shit about D&D

You've never played before, have you? There's really good potential for character interaction here.

they spent a lot of time building the characters and style in season 1, and to come in without that leaves you missing out on a ton of stuff

Channel 101 has seriously SO MUCH that it's surprisingly difficult to put together a quick parenthetical primer on it.

then what the hell is that gap on the left side of the dude's package?
But the idea doesn't excite me like Modern Warfare or the zombie ep or last week's did

S'cool. If it goes anything like our typical games there will be some absolute gold in this episode.
