Presents for my mother this Christmas!

This Christmas I've decided to get my mother a lot of gifts, since this will be our last Christmas before I move away to another country.

The thing is, she is deliberately hard to shop for. All she wants "is for me to happy" and for "me to find a good girl", you know, the usual. I know she likes Josh Groban, so I'm going to get his next CD when it comes out this week. I also know she for sure likes the following:

+Butterflies
+Things that sparkle, usually chimes
+Thomas Kinkade
+Dolphins
+Christmas
+Peanuts (as in Charles Schultz Peanuts)

And that's all! If any of you could recommend specific items or at least sites that have items like these, it would be greatly appreciated. And feel free to recommend outside of the above listed things that she likes... I'm probably forgetting a few things, and even unusual gifts would be nice to consider. Oh, and on that topic, she does not spend much time in the kitchen, so any themed kitchen wear or what have you won't work. I've looked around quite a bit online, but I would love items that you can personally recommend... she's had too many cheap knick knacks break after a few days.

I'm also planning to decorate the house (inside and out) for her while she's out of town for a few days, so cheap tips on how to do that would also be appreciated, since I've never decorated before.

Price range really doesn't matter, I've been saving up for quite a while.

Thanks so much!

I hate you and you hate me.

Do you mean you're decorating the house for christmas or painting and remodeling?

Present wise - Bath and Body Works has a couple of nice items this year. I don't work for them (despite the below) but I love their Christmas stuff:

    - Snowmen candle holders, plug ins, car clips, etc. Look how cute they are:

    http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=snowman&origkw=snowman&sr=1

    - A plug-in wall scent thing that lights up different colored LED's (slowly cycling through them). It's called a "Light Up Wallflower" and it's shaped like a snowflake. You buy different scents to plug in. It's very Christmas-y.

    - A soft blanket for the couch, it's amazing. My friends keep trying to steal mine from last year:

    Other suggestions:

    - There are nice boxed sets of the complete Peanuts collection (amazon, etc).

    - I have some Peanuts pajamas that are really comfortable. I think this is the one:

    Tickets to a butterfly exhibit.

    +Thomas Kinkade
    Night Before Christmas house
    Any print you want.

    +Christmas
    Christmas Classics

Twas the Night Before Christmas place settings, my mom has the full set and they're really cute.
I'd also suggest making her an ornament for her tree.
If she collects the houses not just the Kinkade one but Dept 56 does a nice Christmas Carol set.

+Peanuts (as in Charles Schultz Peanuts
    Peanuts Holiday Collection
    Charlie Brown Christmas Soundtrack

    Wind chimes. Big wind chimes.
    A tiara.
Bath bombs from Lush - they do ones with glitter in them!
Glove gel and gloves from Bliss.
A car arial thingy that's glittery.
Sparkly nail varnish and eye shadows.

OK, these are all things I like, anyway (and have several of, already), but then, you can't have enough tiaras and sparkly things. Seriously.

If its cold where you are, what about a nice scarf and gloves set for her to wear? You can get them with sparkly threads in them that look nice, and will most likely get used if its chilly!

My mom really loves getting pictures of her kids and grandkids. You could get a professional portrait done of yourself and put it in a nice frame for her. If you're going to be out of the county and won't see her for a while, she'd probably appreciate a recent photo of you to have around.

www.etsy.com is great for gift shopping. There are usually sales from the individual sellers right around black friday, but I wouldn't recommend ordering later than that.

I spend entirely too much time browsing etsy for gifts sometimes haha

    Mother gifts
-Something like this, stamped jewlery with her children's/child's name and birthstone
-Custom quote on a silver bangle "Mom, I love you and truly appreciate all that you do for me." Something lovely.

    Butterflies
    -Charms
    -necklaces
    -Purse charms

    Just pretty shiny jewelry
    -freshwater pearls
-Gemstone Jewelry (there is lots of this kind of thing on etsy, shop around)
    -silver jewelry

    Chimes
    -glass chimes
    -dolphin chimes
    -Butterfly chimes

    Dolphins
    -Dolhpin bookmark
    -necklaces

    Peanuts
-not too much, but this necklace is so cute

Professionally taken pictures of you are a really nice idea and I'd second that. My husband and I did that for my mom last year and she loved it... then again she has next to no pictures of me because I hate having my picture taken. If your mother's house is laden with pictures of you it's probably not quite the same, but she'll most likely appreciate it anyway.

Thanks guys! So far I've ordered two of the Thomas Kinkade prints and also that blanket from Bath & Body Works.

The photo suggestion is also good, and I will do that. I hate photographs, so naturally she doesn't have many besides the quick shots she can take when I'm not looking. I'll get our old family dog in the shot, too!

    Please keep it coming!

Last Christmas [strike]I gave you my heart[/strike] I got my Mum a digital photo frame and pre loaded it with plenty of photos of me, particularly ones from my gap-year and university as she hadn't seen these despite having finished uni two years ago.

This went down rather well especially as it means a lot of photos of me but not taking up lots of space.

The gifts hay have always gone over the best with my mother are the personalized ones.

Two years ago I took a drawing i made in grade primary, redrew it and double framed the both of them. I think that's her favorite gift Ive ever given her.

also I can't ever recommend pandora charm bracelets enough
    www.pandora.net
Last year all the kids and I pitched in to get one for mom. We each got her our birth stone charms. There are charms of all the things you mentioned that she likes.
Mine is my favorite piece of jewelry, I wear it with everything, just sometimes I take charms off if they don't match what I'm wearing. They are very customizable and personal.
