oh noes i have 30 cs while kass has 60
why is everyone blaming me its not my fault
oic, since everyone is blaming me, its clearly everyone else's fault
Tanking is a double-edged sword, on the one hand, if the game is going well it's fun being the one to initiate and CC everybody and beat on carries and tank towers and stuffs. On the other hand, I find it harder to play from behind as a tank, because you are pretty useless when your team isn't strong enough to win a teamfight. I much prefer being a hard carry in that case.

So Tristana....not sure what I am doing wrong or if I am doing anything wrong at all but I usually get a couple deaths and maybe 5 kills. Most games I will die once or twice if at all but I will never have more than 10 kills, 5 seems to be an average. Anyways I just feel like I can't do a lot of damage and I think it might be because I am not being aggressive enough so I am not getting enough gold.
Is that the problem? I have no idea how most people play Tristana, I just watched that Reginald (I think...) video and I try and play like that.
I will never understand the concept of people being angry at me not calling champions missing. You have this thing in the corner called a mini map and these things called wards. I really can't wrap my head around this at all.
zilean and tryndamere: *dives kassadin past first tower to second tower, give MF a double kill* "sure would be nice if our worthless jungler would come help us just one time"
I will never understand the concept of people being angry at me not calling champions missing. You have this thing in the corner called a mini map and these things called wards. I really can't wrap my head around this at all.
Here's why:
a. You can more easily tell the difference between "about to spin and win from the bush" and "left to go gank mid by river," than they can, even if they stare at the minimap all the time.
b. In intense fights, you cannot always watch the minimap. I try to get first blood and the most creep kills in the laning phase, but doing so requires devoting a lot of attention.
c. When you're playing as part of a team, you need to communicate all useful information. For examle, Varega calls out the cooldown on his Shen ultimate usually 3-4 times per cooldown. This lets everyone know how aggressive they can be.
Also, I always call missing with additional information, such as, "missing, left to heal," which lets everyone know that they are not ganking now, and if they do gank, it will be coming from the general direction of the enemy fountain.
Good communication is absolutely critically important.

See what programjunkie posted, I'll add to it that it is common courtesy to warn others that, oh, the guy you're laning with either isn't in his lane right now (out to gank), or you killed him and he's taking an abnormally long time to come back (out for a gank too).

Farming/last hitting is like, ridiculously important on Tristana. If you're not out-CSing your lanemate, you're probably not farming well enough.
It also takes awhile to get a feel for positioning in teamfights. If you can get in a position where they can't run straight to bulldoze you, but you can still hit a squishy, that's ideal. It's an instinctual thing.
That said 5/2 K/D is not bad. Assuming those five kills stem from you actually doing damage in teamfights and not just sniping kills with your ultimate, you're not being a liability, you're doing your job to an extent, you're just not carrying your team at that point.
Make sure to save your Buster Shot to knock melees back in teamfights (don't use it for kills at that stage of the game) and use the geometry to your advantage if possible, e.g. stand next to a wall you can jump over if in trouble.

What is CSing? Anyways it depends who is in mid if I am out last hitting them or not, usually though I am unless it is Kog, MF or Kat, then I tower hug for my life. I actually never use my ult to kill past like level 12, I just use it to either escape, save teammates, knock ults out or knock melee back in team fights.
CS is creep score. Sorry. It's just the number of last hits you have on minions.
Anyway I don't know whether those three are actually stronger lanes than Tristana. Certainly they are right up there and might be a little better but I don't know if it's to the point where you should have to be missing last hits to tower hug.

Point A doesn't really make sense, if I see someone leave, my meta-cognitive abilities aside, I am in no better position to impart enemy intention then a ward would. In fact, a ward between the lanes would do a better job then me guessing.
Point B is just silly, the fighting is so intense you stopped to read but couldn't stop to look at the minimap? That just doesn't jive.
Point C is something else entirely and more along the times of analyzing enemy tactics then simply whether they are missing.
I'm not saying MIA's are bad, but I question the overall effectiveness of the concept (when typing them).

Re: Point A - MIA calls are mostly for the laning phase; most champs can't afford to handicap their effectiveness in the lane by buying a green ward instead of actual starting gear. As a general rule, I try to remember to buy wards only after the first tower explodes.
They're also absolutely critical when facing mobile stealthers (Shaco, Twitch & Eve) because wards won't reveal them.
Re: Point B - The game gives an audio chime whenever someone posts a chat message. For some people (myself included), this chime gets our attention.
Pinging the minimap to show which way the MIA champ went and their likely target destination has a similar effect.

You should have some idea of what their intent is, so if they're just hanging out in one of the long bushes on top or bottom, waiting to try to jump out at you, an MIA call is unnecessary, but if you've lost sight and think they might be headed toward another lane you should let people know. If you can't tell, you should let people know. If the approaches are warded, let people know where someone is heading.
I mean, it takes vastly less time for me to read "Mid MIA" and prepare than it does for me to constantly take my eyes off the fight to check my minimap. All it takes to warn me that someone might be coming is a short note, and I'm aware, otherwise I'll have to constantly draw my attention away from my lane to pay attention to your lane. Apparently you have strong multi-tasking skills that I don't possess.
Not to mention that people expect you to call missing. You may think "hey, it's a crutch" or "it's a way for people with shitty map awareness to survive" and that may be true, but if a short message can save someone from a gank and help keep you in the game, how is that bad? Letting someone die and then saying "pay attention to your minimap" isn't a winning strategy.
