I have a PC which I built myself but recently blew out the MOBO (at least I think that's what was busted). Basically one day when I came home I noticed my pc was off and the cpu fan wasn't plugged in securely. I went ahead and pushed on the little black plastic corner of the cpu fan to get it to pop back in. I pushed too hard or something and for a moment my pc came to life, the mobo turned on, I had lights going, and I let go and it turned off. After that moment nothing turned on when I gave power to the pc, only the power supply would run and I'd get 4 little lights on the mobo light up (the words 4 phase LED was next to those lights, I couldnt find what those meant). Could this have fucked up my video card as well?
I bought a new mobo, hooked everything back up, and when I turned it on nothing came up on the monitor. I double checked my connections and after turning it on and off a few times I noticed that about every third time I turn it on, the video card doesn't start up, or at least the fan doesn't spin but I still don't get anything on the monitor. Anyone have any ideas? I won't have another video card to test with (from the pc I built for my brother) till the weekend and even then I'm scared of fucking that one up.
Alien imposter. Pretender. I'll keep you safe now. Close to my heart.
If you replaced the mobo, the monitor isn't busted and it's getting power it has to be the video card. Or your cables are dead, but never even heard that come to think of it. So yeah, video card. You probably figured this out already if you tested another card, but there's a random 2nd opinion for you anyway!
