Well, I must say that I'm a bit impressed so far. After playing the game since early beta, and having a bad taste in my mouth from it, I kind of figured that this would be a game I would buy (this weekend, actually), which would eventually just get added to my MMO account collection, but I'm on a 10-day trial right now, and it's improved enough to the point where I think it warrants a purchase.

I still think it has the most damned generic graphics, though. EverQuest II has more art style in their environments, and that's saying a lot.

Agree about the graphics, but I've seen screenshots of some of the higher level areas and it does get a whole lot better. Character models kinda suck too.

I dwell around these parts often, and this post caught my attention.

I've been looking for a group to play with since my normal playgroup is playing WoW, I don't know how you guys feel about letting a lurker join up for the fun.

I have a 9 Goblin Monk named Ots, but I am thinking of rolling some sort of Bard on another continent as well.

Awkward, don't know how to end this post.

Note to potential Necromancers. Once you hit level 8 you must fear kite every god damn thing you fight. Sadly it took me 2 days to finally figure this out.

People like to watch me fear kite. I guess it's like mmo Porn.

Yeah I got to level 4 as a Necro as a thestrian human. Was doing the quest to kill some redcap undead constructthings that required a group. But no one wanted to group with me.. *le sigh* so i decided to kite the 3 bubbled creature till it died.. after doing that.. and realizing that will probably happen alot.. i gave up on the class. I hate kiting.

Oh, and is it just me are bards prone to there eq staple.. Hey i can make a song that makes me run like a bat outta hell.. *ZIP PEW* as they blow by me while i run around.

    Oh,

So far, i think I like monk and blood mage the most. But I'll see.

I absolutely loved my druid on the RP server, but I only rolled him while I tinkered with the game on the ten-day trial. Now that I'm on Flamehammer, I'm back to being a simple Cleric. And I love it.

i moved my components over to a new case last night (CM Stacker) and now my pc is acting crazy. but hopefully i'll have that all worked out by tomorrow at 8am EST so i can get my double exp on! if my buddy doesn't start playing more (like i thought he would be when i bought the damn game) i'm gonna have to make another character on Flamehammer and rock with you guys. i'm really digging my monk and psionicist - though i'm noticing how frail the latter is. hopefully the mez/cc gets better cause multi-pulls = death.

Right now the majority of the people in the guild are in the mid-teens. with some folks still starting out in the single digits and I think I'm on the high end at 19. we should have enough to take a group or two in KE this weekend if we get enough people on.

Whoops, you guys are on Thestra? Which city do you guys operate out of? (been playing a Raki Paladin)

I think almost everyone runs out of Tursh/Three Rivers. It's not too hard to get to from Kojan. I am a Raki myself and I made the trip at 13 and it really helped my XP, there are so many quests and groups around here it helps alot.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's easy to get to where most people are (most seem to be around Tursh) from the Raki start area.

as an orc warrior, i found thestra to be friendly enough. 3 rivers / varskeies exchange are non aggro to evil side so i wouldnt worry about it too much. just play where u want to . Qualia / oasis area have a ton of good quests for the lower levels / teens np just being in guild helps too.

Well the guild is about 22 Strong as of this evening. We are looking to get a few XP groups going this weekend and sunday evening at 9est/6pst we are going to take a group or two into Khegor's End, near Tursh. this is a 14-19ish dungeon so hopefully everyone will be in this level range by the end of the double xp weekend.

Enjoy the extra xp everyone! and send us a tell if you need a guild invite!

another thing since it seems most of the mid level dungeans are camped on thestra we could look at going to qualia and see what there is there. I know there are severl spawn maps of dungeans floating around that hsould be good for our level range.

I'll check in tonight im sure not exactly sure what i have planed but i know tomorrow i have the whole day off.

Hey guys, I hate to say it, but I'm not even playing Vanguard anymore; I haven'y logged in since launch day, to be honest.

As such, I haven't really been keeping up with this thread, or doing a good job of maintaining it. If anyone's interested, you may want to ask a mod to axe this one and start one of your own. Feel free to re-use this thread's first posts as you see fit, and sorry for the inconvenience.

So, as a newb, what's the best way to connect with you guys in game and group up? Is there a certain race/class that would be ideal; a certain starting area perhaps?

I'd really like to see what the group dynamics are like with a good group of folks before the 10day trial expires.

I'm playing an orc myself and I'm going to have to do a bit of faction grinding. I know a place to get non-KOS with dwarves in a very short amount of time, and elves werent too bad when I had a Vulmane either (Vulmane are KOS to elves and dwarves at start). Tursh shouldn't be too tough either. If you end up making an 'evil' creature, I can lend a hand =)
