Where is a good place to find these? Googling brings up a few reputable places like Amazon but I'm wondering if there was a go-to place.

I'm a bit worried about using a subpar seller and getting the wrong one.

The kicker is we have the brick (I assume the bulk of the price is that) is there any place we could find just the cable portion?
I went to check on what you said Spudge but it seems I flip flopped the situation.
What happened was it's not actually my Xbox, my roommates have 2. Somehow actually we have one box hooked up and another with a brick, but that brick doesn't fit on the Xbox. It's really weird and we're not sure how that came to be. So we're actually looking for the whole thing.

Apologies.

Edit: And apparently they might just be switched? Amusing if this is the case. Waiting for the one to get off COD to test this.

Edit: Yea, wow, it was switched. Don't know why we never tried that. It seemed weird to think one could work for both.

I could be wrong (been a LONG time since I looked at my PSU) but isn't it just a standard 3-prong PC PSU cable, maybe with a notch in it underneath the ground prong?

If you have a spare PC cable, you could just cut the notch out and use that...

Depends on the model. Some of them are pretty similar (or identical?) to a computer power cable, some are 3 prong but with a different shape, some are only 2 prong. (actually... there may only be 2 types, one 3 prong and a 2 prong).

Unless it's crazy expensive, I'd just get it from Amazon for peace of mind.

Edit: Like here, depending on which version you have:
