Last year I was in Florida, but this time around I'm heading to Maryland for Christmas break and my mom's promised to drive me through a national park! Just hoping the heating will be better than her A/C
Also I'll be in NYC around New Years, so if I hit up the city I'll take pics of the light shows
i think my knee is better enough to snowboard this year i hope as long as i am careful
i went a good amount last year but hurt myself in february which was sad because i was on the ski/snowboard club at my school, (which money wise was a hell of a deal because it was well subsidized, i paid like 400 bucks for the season and they had trips, mostly day trips, fri, sat, sun of every weekend from january to march and the bus and lift tickets were paid for.. and towards the end of the season they did some overnight trips further north and lodging was paid for. also we drank on the bus home after days skiing/riding)
too bad i missed most of the good overnights because of my injury. very sad about that. and that i was only on the club for 2 years instead of 4 because i didnt find out about it till late.
would probably be a more talented snowboarder in that case.
oh well.
snowboarding!
snow!
last year we HAD A SNOW DAY it was absurd i loved all that snow last year
the snow that shut down DC
hey man, whoa now, fall is still going strong, which is the best season. enjoying the pretty leaves and brisk, but not too chilly, weather
but i do love winter so. wearing mittens and my snug fancy grey pea coat, drinking hot cocoa outside, watching the weather channel for the hope of a sudden snow storm, not having public places smell like stankass from sweaty people, listening to christmas music, it is da bomb
this winter, i plan on finding something to wear that is like the snuggie/slanket, only longer and with the thickness of a good comforter and more classy. also, i think smoking tobacco from a fancy pipe would be a cool thing to pick up this winter, we shall see

I almost got stuck in Laramie last night
It was all nice and dry when we left Colorado, but took all of 30 minutes for them to start closing the only two roads out of town. It was a fun drive tooling down I-80 at 30 mph in 4wd though

I'm leaning towards snowboarding cause I am a clutz. So the less parts I have to worry about the better.
Come to Washington and teach me.
I am looking into finding someone to learn with me when I take lessons this winter.
i would love to come to washington, i have only been out west for snow activities twice in my life, to big sky montana 2 years ago and to tahoe last year
i am sad that now i am an adult and don't have my college ski team + month long winter break from school that i dunno how easy it will be for me to go snowboarding much
No, fuck winter. Anyone who likes winter has never lived in northern Canada. I'm glad this is my last winter up here and after that I get to move back to Montreal.
And Montreal still has way worse winters than any of your 'muhricans have ever seen.
Fuck snow, fuck the cold, fuck wind, fuck it being dark at 3 in the afternoon. The only thing winter is good for is staying in and drinking something hot.

In Memphis last week it was 55-60 degrees every day. People there were wearing winter coats and complaining about how cold it was and all I could do was laugh. My work buddy and I walked to Beale St. in tee shirts and got all sorts of crazy looks.

oh, fo sho, wearing the geeney one proudly, because it is rocking.
and sheesh, winter starts after thanksgiving, gosh
i want snow so bad, especially since i don't have to drive to work when it snows now. driving the highways round these parts during even melty snowfall is terrifying and quite sad

I really hope that's a joke. The only time I can remember school being canceled here was when we had a week where it was down around -45 C (-49 F). It's currently -34 C (-29 F) with the windchill here.
I love that even though I'm an adult with a real job and everything, I still get snow days from work because the place shuts down for like 2 inches of snow. Last winter was glorious, a solid week of paid snow days from work

My house has a huge porch overhang, and both of my windows lead out onto it.
I'm going to sit on my roof and watch it snow this winter.

who wants eskimo kisses?
What spring does with the cherry trees.
As a norwegian I find it hilarious that you americans get "snow days".
One of these days I'm gonna move to somewhere temperate.
