I've officially had my fill of wager matches. It was fun and all, but I much prefer to use guns of my choosing and not lose 20 cheese pizzas every match.
I think I'm just gonna give up on pistols. Even at moderate range 4 hits from the snub nose python doesn't seem to put guys down, and trying to use the acog python is a waste of time.
Nova gas seems to be extremely underpowered too. I pegged a guy in the chest with a canister, then he sat in the gas taking damage, disarmed the HQ and walked out without a problem.
I've added an emblem section to the OP.
Will I lazily add to it now and then if, by pure luck, I see your emblem in this thread when I visit it? Yes.
Will I add your cool new emblem that you made even though you're already up there without removing your old one? Yes.
Will I replace your old emblem that's already been put in the list with your new one now that you've refined it a bit? That would require I go through and figure out whose emblem is whose, so No.

1) The python is weak considering the fact that it takes pretty much as many bullets to kill someone as the 1911 or the CZ75 but takes 100x as long to reload. In short, CZ75 is your best pistol choice.
2) your error was the part where you didn't follow the nova up with either a second nova, a frag/semtex/tomahawk, or shooting the dude liberally.

There are a lot of PA players on the 360 pretty much every night. Sometimes, we have to get two teams going, because we either don't want to do Ground War, or we've got more than 9 players ready to go. Having said that, it's probably about time we discuss laying down some ground rules, because right now, it's kind of chaotic: people join games in progress to see if we have room, then end up on the other team and spend the whole game intentionally taking down our kill streaks and whatnot, and I can't imagine that's fun for anyone; or people jump into party chat while they're waiting, and play Nazi Zombies while our team is pushing on Objectives.
I love that the PA community has such a strong presence on the 360, because we can always get a solid crew going, but we really need to tighten it up a bit, I think. We can't just have people constantly bouncing in and out of the channels, or sitting in the party while they wait for their turn to come in -- which, realistically, might be a while.
Totally not bagging on anyone. I had a good time tonight.
But yeah, maybe let's get some discussion on this.
I'd just like the point out that taking down killstreaks whether you're PA or not is certainly a tactical priority.
This will come down to A squad B squad bitching as well.
Also it's time we start talking about a TOURNAMENT!
Who exactly is running the metatag(s) again for the 360?
I've had a request pending for like two weeks now and I've asked in the past few versions and I think its Luigi whos is doing the COD one but I'm getting sad that I'm not getting invites to PA games and having to stalk people through the metatag.

Whoa...just got the stoner tonight - extended mag and a reflex, nasty.
I am a big fan of the stoner with reflex sight and Slight of hand pro. It's my go-to gun for hardcore. The damage just isn't quite there in softcore to make it the top of my list, though.
Yesssssss. So much fun last night. That was my first few rounds with a shotgun build, and once I figured out the range on the shotguns in this game and the speed that you can rack a new shell in in the Stakeout, things went very well.

1) josh has a valid point
2) I know, for example, when I join games in progress and end up on the other team I don't tend to mess with anyone. I'd just rather play against PA (even if it means getting rolled) than by myself with random pubbies. I get less pissy about getting rolled.
3) I don't know how to organize it other than two things: if you join a 6 man party's game, and they don't want to play groundwar, suck it up and deal with it, and if any more than 2 people join a 6 man party's game, go start your own 6 man party -- there's probably enough people on to do it.
I for one don't mind getting stomped by friends, just don't get all pissy if I kill you with a weapon/technique you deem as newbish. Except for claymores, feel free to complain about them all day long: I need a good reason to laugh.
I feel like there are quite a few structural differences between the 360 and PS3 versions that no one has noticed that people just assume are the same between the two. For instance, I've heard a lot of the 360 people talking about "losing" recordings of games because the host quit or whatever. On the PS3 there is just a list of 100 games that I've played in and I can download them off the server, and watch what was going on even before I got there or after my internet shitted out on me. I might be misunderstanding what's going on, but it seems to me that the different consoles use a different method to save replays.

I'm doing my best Seinfeld impersonation here: What's the big deal about playing ground war? It's a mix of two gametypes that PA members seem to play most often (at least in my experience). Either way, I have no problems breaking off to form a new six man team. On the 360 at least, there always seems to be enough people on to do that on an almost nightly basis.

So, the claims re: AK74 are all true. I was doing poorly last night and switched up to 74 with reflex and grip. Went from TDM on Jungle at 4-18 to TDM on Jungle at 24-10
Really, a sexy gun. Also, all guns should be dressed in Ice camo.

I think people's only real complaint about ground war is that it tends to get laggier. More players, more data to be sent from console to console, etc. Sometimes, if you get a good connection, ground war is great. You get to kill lots of mans, earn challenges and so on. Sometimes it's just a horrible lag-fest for anyone who doesn't have a great connection.
That said, I don't think most of us really have that big a problem playing ground-war. We've played it through every CoD iteration so far so that we can play with as many PA people as possible. When we get too many players, or if the connections are bad enough, we generally just start new 6-man parties.
I'm not sure why we need a new set of ground rules for how this works...
@Sanguine. You're a mad-man. HC objective games? <shudder>

@Sanguine. You're a mad-man. HC objective games? <shudder>
It's mostly the lag. And some of the maps (I'm looking at you, Havana) are not meant for 18 people.
And, yeah, HC objective...what? How can that possibly be fun? Especially CTF...run two steps, one bullet in your heel, you're dead! You crazy, Sang.
As far as the party thing goes I usually will join a game in session or hop into a party. If I join a game in session and the party's full I'll finish out the game & then usually move on. Likewise if I join a party and I'm number 7 I'll usually move on as well. I've sort of resigned myself to the fact that most nights I'm not going to play with the main group since I get on too late (usually around 11:00pm eastern). It just means I'll need to start another party or play with other friends. It doesn't seem like it's too big of a deal. It might help if you guys are running 6 & don't want to change over to groundwar to keep the party invite only, that way people won't be jumping in and out. People should play what they want & I understand not wanting to jump over to ground war all the time. I've been told to get out when I joined in session & they had lost a member, nobody's trying to be a dick, and first come first serve is the only way that makes any sense.

Havana... Havana makes me an angry, angry man. 12 man or 18 man, fuck that map on Dom. I can deal with TDM, but Dom makes me really angry. There are so many sight-lines to B, and it's way too easy to chuck a 'nade at it.
I'm trying to think of another map I dislike as much as it. I'm not a big fan of WMD. That's the one with the B-flag right next to an open warehouse, and a fuel-truck nearby, ja?

Certainly, that is a valid point: taking down the other teams' streaks is a tactical move. But what I'm talking about is a little different: last night, we had a guy in our party who we didn't have room for, so he just kept playing against us, and at one point he said that all he was going to do was "run around with a Strela and knock everything down". That's ... kinda shitty, isn't it?
Don't get me wrong, I don't remember who he was, but I remember he was a cool guy. I'm not shitty with him or anything, I just wish we didn't have to go up against a person three or four games in a row who's:
a) In our party, listening in on where our team is and what we're doing,
and
b) knocking down our kill streaks not even necessarily to be tactical, but more or less just just to fuck with us.
b) knocking down our kill streaks not even necessarily to be tactical, but more or less just just to fuck with us.
And? Whether or not he did it to fuck with you is irrelevant. It's a valid tactic. I can understand getting irked because he did it to get under your skin, but so what? Let that shit roll off your back.
Last thing we need is a big personal fight going through this thread like it does with the TF2 thread. :P
