Gabe's hand-drawing skills have progressed light-years.
But then we keep getting those creepy Gabe expressions!
Also, I never noticed it before, but he has crazy chameleon eyes sometimes like in the third panel of today's comic, it's really bad in the first panel of this comic.
Anyway, I'm shocked that the holiday comic has blasphemy!
You've never heard of sweet potato casserole? It's a tradition at my house, my mom has a secret recipe she got from her grandmother. Here is a recipe and picture to give you an idea, but hers has raisins and condensed milk in it or something.

Interesting. Just to check, this is a desert right? You're not serving that alongside the turkey?

Uh, it's a part of the meal.
Though some folks make it sans marshmallows.
And some of us (like me) are heretics and don't really like sweet potatoes all that much.

My family discovered this recipe for Sweet Potato mash, before which I had never been a fan of them, always being much more a fan of the savoury variety.
We then proceeded to eat it at least every second dinner.
I am now once again not a big fan of sweet potatoes.

No, we've always served it with the turkey and there's dessert later. But typically people don't eat a whole lot of it because with the marshmallows and brown sugar it's really sweet, so it's better to pile on the regular potatos instead. I'm not a fan so much because the combination of sugars is a weird taste and texture for me.
Actually thinking about it, i bet sweet potatoe casserole without the marshmallow would be awesome.

it would be pretty awesome
and it is, for it is sweet potato casserole, and it must be
but to enjoy it without marshmallow? I suppose you could
if you're uncouth enough to attempt such an endeavor
perhaps you live in a country that forbids the use of marshmallows under pain of pain and also maybe a small serving of being horribly torn apart by dogs
perhaps you simply could not afford them, being a penniless hobo who traded every single thing he owned, wore, and loved for that precious casserole alone. He sits now, naked, hand poised above the confection in pregnant silence
perhaps you live in a time when sweet potato casserole has been invented, but marshmallow has not, but you eagerly await that bright eyed bushy haired youth with too much style to be contained by the system
perhaps then you may have your sweet potato casserole sans marshmallow

Dammit Rane, this whole concept is new to me. I'M SCARED.
Lots of people have wished me a happy thanksgiving already. Even though we don't celebrate any of the times we've cultivated and stolen a continent from indigenous peoples. And we've done that alot.
I kind of wish we did celebrate it here. All this food talk is making me hungry.

the best way to make yams or sweet potatoes is to just cut those suckers into fours, brush them with melted butter and brown sugar, and bake them until theyre soft
actually theyre great for camping. they work well in tinfoil.

It is basically the most delicious thing ever, but I may just be saying that because I had lots of it today.

Topped with marshmallow I'm not too sure about but I'd give it a shot.
I dislike the Sweet Potato with the Marshmallows with it, but I am willing to try it prepared otherways.

Today is my birthday as well. I am 28 today.
Jesus would make an awesome dinner guest. He could perform some entertaining magic tricks after dinner while people eat their desserts.

This year my mom made mashed up sweet potatoes with some mandarin oranges in it baked in the oven. It was so good.
(I.e. food of the Gods.)
I've had this
It did indeed taste like food Jesus would bring me
