XBox Connection Issue to Media Center

Just got my brand spanking new black friday XBox, and set up all the bells and whistles. The only issue I have is that the Media Center portion is incredibly slow. I can stream NetFlix, and play online with no issues. I have forwarded the correct ports, and am running ATT dsl with a 2wire 2701HG-B modem/router.

The interface is slow and laggy, and when attempting to watch a video it just says "buffering", but no playback. I have also attempted to plug in with a cat 5 cable to my PC.

Anyone else have similar issues, or know of something I can do to address this problem?

Thanks very much in advance.

I have never been able to get Media Center to work correctly.

I'd suggest just sharing the directories on your hard drive and accessing them through a PC connection. Google can tell you the exact how.

This. I watch movies all the time on my 360 and using Media Center is NOT the way to go. Just share the directories and access them via the video tab in the 360 dashboard.

I just use windows media player and share my media with my xbox. Works fine.

Shared with the locate files deal. Thanks for the help. Really is too bad that Media Center is fucking terrible.

Heh it pisses me off that the solution to this problem is just "don't use Media Center." I would love to be able to hit Play All on a directory when I stream episodes of something to the Xbox, rather than have to turn on the controller and select each new episode when I just watch from the directories. Alas.
