Recommend a small-ish HDTV

I'm about to move into a new apartment and I'd like to get a TV for my room so that I don't drive my roommate crazy by hogging the living room TV for gaming.

It's going to be used primarily for Gamecube-ing, but I'm planning on getting a 360 sometime in the spring.

Keep in mind that it's a New York City apartment, so space isn't exactly abundant.

Any suggestions?

We sure have a lot of recommend me a TV threads lately...

So is this an HDTV you are looking for or what? I mean small TVs aren't hard to come by or anything and if it isn't an HDTV they are basically all the same.

Yeah, I tried to search, but I didn't see anything that quite matched up with what I want.

Er, yeah, I probably should have mentioned that. Whoops.

I can't really help you on the HD aspect (I have a 23" SD), but I can tell you that if you have enough room having two TVs in your main living space is awesome. My roomate and I can play games at the same time, or one of us could be playing a game and the other watching TV/a movie.

Sometimes I'll have a game going on one TV, and with the other one I can listen to either the news or Jeopardy.

It also rocks for system linking consoles, if your roomate is a gamer a well.

If you've got a membership (or someone you know does), you can check out Costco ... they usually have good deals on small HDTVs.

Do you have a price range you're looking for?

At the moment I'm just kind of trying to gauge how much I'll be spending. It's worth noting that I'm easily seduced by sexy electronics. More important than price to me is that the thing won't break.

Thanks for the Costco suggestion. I think my mom might have a membership...

If you don't need an integrated HDTV tuner then you could consider buying a good LCD monitor - S-Video and Composite inputs are fairly common on them, sometimes they even come with Component and at the higher-end with HDMI (usually no speakers though).

I'm not sure how good the picture will look with the STV resolutions though.
720p is the same as the 1280x720 PC resolution and 1080p is 1920x1080.

You can also connect the 360 to any old PC monitor with the VGA cable.

And currently on sale for $549! The 32" is on sale for $700 right now. I'm trying to convince my wife that we need one, but she is cruel and unyeilding. :(

    Now that is damn sexy.

I was planning on getting something closer to 20 inches, but the sale price on that is extremely tempting.
