Weird sound issue with my monitor

So, I have this little sound problem with my computer monitor that just popped up today.
I use my monitor for both my computer and ps3, the ps3 is set up using an hdmi cable. When I turn on the ps3, it has sound, everything is fine. I start playing GTA4: Complete, and as soon as the loading screen comes up, all sound is gone. When the game starts, no sound at all.
After this happens, if I hit the source button on my monitor to switch it back to my computer, I can't get any sound from the computer.
The only way to fix it is to switch it back to the hdmi input and go back to the main menu of the ps3, which will then have sound, then switch it back to the analog input, which then gives me sound from my computer.
It seems to me like it's an issue with the monitor, but I have no idea how to fix it. It has happened in the past, but usually switching sources helps it. GTA kind of sucks without sound.
