I'm sick of those dime-a-dozen tiny little postage stamp chocolate advent calendars that seem to proliferate all over Western Canada (maybe all of CAN and US).
You know, only about 4 designs, super cheapo, carried by all the grocery stores?
I am willing to pay a few more bucks to get something with some substantial bite size pieces for each day.
Where?!
Is there a good known brand or merchant who carries these things? Must have a location in the GVR.

There's awesome ones on Granville Island. Just gotta give a look around.
Well this is weird, I checked the websites for Purdys, Rogers Chocolates and Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory and none of them list advent calendars in their holiday sections. Those were the three places I would have suggested you look for a step above grocery store stuff. :?

Laura Secord is best chocolate and they make great advent calendars.
a year or two ago I found in target or some other run of the mill place an advent calendar without chocolate... yeah just fill it yourself. now the quality of chocolate is up to you!
the thing was built like a giant wreath of cardboard type material with cups that have pull off caps rather than the classic open a window style.
I picked up a bunch of Lindt calendars for my family; look the same as a boring old advent calendar, but each day is a Lindt chocolate with nommy deliciousness inside, and they are actually different depending on the day! I just grabbed it at the local Shopper's i think, i didn't even realize they weren't plain ol' boring advent calendars.

While the pieces are uniform, I found it a little crunchy.
Not sure if these guys ship up north, but they got some fancy chocolate.
I can vouch for the Hotel Chocolat one - my girlfriend and I have a couples' truffle selection, with two pieces behind each door. It's awesome.
