So, I was leafing through past PA comics and came upon this comic:
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2002/11/25/
I noticed that the comic had the final 11 digits of the UPC digits, so one was missing. Now, many people may not know this (I know I didn't learn it until I was 19 or so), but the last digit in a UPC code is a check sum. Basically, let the sum of the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th digits = X (aka, add up the odd sequenced numbers)
Then, let the sum of the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th digits = Y
3*X + Y = Z
Divide Z by 10, and let the remainder (whole number division? What is this, elementary school??) = R.
10 - R = 12th digit.
Using this, I took the UPC code from the comic ( _ 74470 03462 9), and decided to try to figure out what the ACTUAL UPC CODE REFERENCED! OOOH, possible Easter Egg?
For the sake of following calculations, let's make the _ (omitted digit) = A
So:
3 * (A + 4 + 7+ 0 + 4 + 2) + (7 + 4 + 0 + 3 + 6) = Z
3A + 71 = Z
The 12th digit is a 9, therefore R = 1.
So, Z/10 = (INTEGER) + 1/10
3A/10 + 71/10 = (I) + 1/10
Multiply it all by 10
3A + 71 = 10(I) + 1
3A - 10(I) = -70
Therefore, 3A can be 0 when (I)=7
And there are no more solutions using whole numbers 0-9.
Hurray, that was cool, so now what?
I get to look it up! What cool Easter Egg could be hidden??

oh
someone else figured it out or PA put it in there first.
But still! I had fun!
Let me know if my math is wrong!
