I was at a North Face outlet... a few years ago. I saw this cool little thing, which I should have bought. I want it now.
Basically, it was this mouthpiece you placed over your lips and in your mouth (plastic, hard with a gummy insert to "bite") and claimed to be for extreme weather conditions - 20 degree to like, below zero. You breathed through it, and it had these little fins to prevent your freakin' tongue from freezing.
It was very cool, very "special ops" and i can't find it or anything like it anymore. Any help?

Those work great, just remember this:
Keeps temperatures inside 40°F to 60°F higher than outside (difference relative to movement)
I have one that I rarely use because it's usually too damn hot. I'll usually just wear a regular balaclava. I only wear the expedition one when I'm out in sub-zero temperatures.
