YouTube Problems

I can watch the videos inlined in forum posts here, but when I try to go to YouTube and watch one, all I get is a black screen where the player would be.

This is happening in both IE8 and FF 3.6 and I have tried clearing out the cache in both. Does anyone have any ideas?

Are you using any ad-blocking software? Youtube generally doesn't work any more if you have adblock enabled.

Ya adblockers will do this. You could also try reinstalling flash. XP go Start > control panel > add / remove or on win7 go start > computer > uninstall or change a program then surf to adobe's site to reinstall them. I have personally had this happen as well and it ended up being an adblocker in my case.

I disabled ABP in FF and it still doesn't work, and I have no adblock software in place in IE. The fact I can view inline ones means Flash should be working correctly, right? I re-installed it and am still having the same problem.

Well, I cleared the cache again and restarted FF, and it's working normally now even with ABP enabled. Thanks for the suggestions!
