Just a quick question for you all, I am planning on redoing our entertainment center and need to buy several longer HDMI cables (looking at getting them all 6 feet)
I for the life of me cannot remember where people like to purchase their HDMI cables on the cheap. I know there is website that has been recommended several times before, I just cannot remember it.
Monoprice for longer cables. That being said, for only 6 feet, cheaper cables off Amazon.com will almost certainly do the trick (just make sure they support 1080p if you want that--though even that might not matter).
Yeah when you goto monoprice just get the basic hdmi cable.. Not the fancy gold ones. Save some money.
Specifically, it's a pretty good idea to go with the "high speed" certified cables. Those are the old HDMI 1.3b category 2 certified cables, except due to dumb HDMI licensing rules a lot of restrictions are in place as to how you can refer to what they support.
"High Speed with Ethernet" is what is otherwise known as HDMI 1.4. You don't need that.
