Hamachi and Heroes 3

So my friend and I are trying to get a Heroes 3 game going over Hamachi. We've both disabled our firewalls and are trying to connect via TCP/IP. When either of us hosts, the other gets the message "unable to connect to this session, timeout." We're running the same versions of everything. The only thing I can think of (and don't know how to remedy) would be that our in-game IPs are different from our Hamachi ones: would this have anything to do with it?

    You have to use your hamachi IPs. That's how it works =). Hamachi creates a virtual nic, gives a virtual IP, that's what the game needs to be pointed to for use.

    Yeah we are using our hamachi IPs, but we still get the Timeout message.
