Quick help on new XMen Arcade game

Just got it for the Xbox and its great. However I can't seem to figure out how to switch characters while I'm playing after I die. There is an option on the start menu to "switch characters" but its always gray.

I read a post off Google about the PS3 version telling me to run down the timer then use the shoulder buttons, but all that did was end my game (nice). I've tried all the buttons and inputs I can think of, but I'm sure I'm missing something stupid.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also if anyone wants to play a game my tag is Enos.

my little brother was doing it today, he said you use start after you die and are waiting to continue?

Well after you die and run out of lives a timer pops up. You press A to continue, most other buttons just speed it up. Pretty sure I've tried start, but I'll do it again.

Yeah, pressing start during the countdown just pauses the game. And even during the countdown the option is still grayed out.

So it seems like the option "un-grays" itself if you have more than 1 player (in a local game anyway). Still not sure how to do this when just doing a single player run through.

Let's face it: there's no good reason to play as anyone but Wolverine anyway.

Also, apparently you can't change characters unless you're playing with more people.

you have to actually move the joystick up and down before pressing A to continue
