About two years ago, my best friend and I decided that 98% of video game television sucked. Every show was either a cartoon about a video game character, or a news show about new video game products, most of which were getting kickbacks from the stuff they promo'd.
I made some phone calls, we wrote a pilot, pitched it, and it took.
Since then we've been putting together what has now become "High Score", a sitcom about gamers.
It airs locally on the east coast on a couple local access channels, but we've decided to take things to the internet. I decided, "What better time than Winter-EEN-mas. It'll be like, a present to gamers everywhere."
So go check it out, and let us know what you think.
We're not getting paid for this or making money off it, so don't think i'm looking to score a buck or nothin'.
We've got 3 episodes up right now, and the latest one is pretty damn good.
I'm also looking for a decent place to host the torrents for the episodes. if anyones got a good suggestion, or knows of some dirt cheap hosting, let me know.

1. It's basically whoring, not just frowned upon, but also against the rules to some degree.
2. You invoked a bastion of CAD, a comic that here is nearly as reviled as its creator.
3. There is no point three, it just rounds out the list a little bit.
4. You fail at BBCode
I will post more after I have consumed some vestige of what you have indicated.
EDIT: After watching some of it I will say this:
-Shaky handheld camera combined with split-screen makes for a nauseating few minutes in Episode 4. It's very difficult to track and would work better if you just cut between the activities of the four people.
-Don't look at the camera
-I understand the whole "limited budget" thing, but you'd probably be better off without a lot of the visual effects if you can't do them right.
-Know your lines.
-You can shoot a scene more than once to get it right, you know.
If you're serious about this, which seems probable, you'd do well to put all the resources you have into crafting a single, riveting, awesome half-hour episode to use as a pitch-pilot. If you can pitch the pilot to anybody (an agent would be useful) you'd be able to get a budget to do it properly.
Low budget is fine, but amatuerish is not when you're trying to entertain people. You need to take it seriously if you want it to be taken as such.
Of course, none of this takes into account the constant use of copyrighted material in a way that I'm not certain qualifies as parody.
SECOND EDIT: I have now watched the second episode of your show (technically the first episode, but whatever) and want every last one of you to die in a fire.

Classy.

2, Why must they be "gamers"? Anyone can play games, it's not really a fair generalization of a sub-group in my book. That's more of a character trait, unless you have them driving to what used to be E3 and trying to get in or something, using some sort of pseudo-science on the level of Superman, and one of the guys goes, "I learned this in HALO!" and does some dumb shit.
And no one wants to see that.
First off Taramoor sad this already, but don't do the split cameras. And the bottom two, you could barely tell what was going on once they went outside.
The acting...well...I can understand that you guys are amatures, but atleast put forth some effort.
Well there's so much more to be said, but it's off to work.
What?
I'm at work, so I can't watch, but I honestly can't think of much humour that could be extracted from the gamer stereotype. You can write comedy about gaming, but that's a different thing.
i dont know...the word "sitcom" already annoys me. then looking at the group-shot makes me want to hate it.
but ill sure as hell check it out when i get home from work.
and then my post will be epic in its opinions (based on witnessing) as opposed to my opinions based on concept.
I watched the first for as long as I could. I don't think I saw the end of the thumb wrestle.
Then I skipped to the fourth. Boring intro, and your theme song makes me want to kill myself.
Please, stop. For everyone on the internet, stop.
edit: i mean sit, too.
edit2: we don't care if you're looking for money, please don't torrent this shit, and don't you dare bring up CAD here.
But it didn't work out.
You'll just have to accept that and move on.
Please. Not just for our sake, but for your sake, too... if you keep going down this road, you are going to be humiliated.
He seems to have done that himself.
Just ... no.
Don't?
"...you get 44 for stabbing a wounded guy."
Awesome.
Yeah really. Ive seen that video like, 10 times and its always funny.
I couldnt sit through like, 5 minutes of the OP's videos. Terrible, terrible acting. Terrible sound track. Cliche. I mean, itd be a fine student project or something, but i mean shit, you want to put this on TV? I mean, public access is fine because this is about the caliber of show that makes it on there, but theres no way its going to go farther than that unless you seriously tighten up the script, the acting, the directing, the special effects and the edits. Also the sound levels really piss me off, im not going to adjust my speakers just so i can hear everyones lines.
Check out my band, click the banner.
I'm guessing he won't, as he just came to site whore and left to do more of it elsewhere. But man, that video was terrible. The intro was over half of the damn "show." Then you get some shitty WoW video with the voice acting and movements completely off, with horrid writing.
The video is broken into 6 parts. There is a max length allowed on Youtube and they are getting around it by having the parts play in sequence. It continues on with the news, which the guy was prattling about at the end of the first part. I couldn't bear it any longer though so I closed the tab.
I applaud you for taking an idea and putting forth the effort to bring it to fruition, though. Whether or not the end product was worth the effort or not is a different story, but I can tell that there was a lot of work put into it, and that's cool. I would suggest you keep working on it until you find a formula that actually works. Don't feel too bad, for a first effort it could have gone much, much worse.
Also, that Sarah chick is pretty hot.

Sums up my stance on this pretty much completely. It may not be terribly good, but the fact alone that it's been completed not once, but 3 or 4 times all the way through shows a great deal of ambition, dedication, and effort. Keep working at it until you find the formula that works with your guys' style.
That was pretty bad. And boring.
Intro is too long.
I'm not sure why the audio is so bad. Does every scene use the handheld shakeycam's mic to record audio? Might want to get at least a couple of better mics or something to use to improve the sound quality/volume.

Uh huh.
I surely hope you all still have day jobs.
"This just in... There is a new web-tv show about video games called "High Score" making rounds on the internet.
The general population has be warned to avoid it,
because it fucking sucks.
The camera makes me want to puke. and i'm sure nintendo would love to let you use their products in a show!
The mics, for instance. Having to maneuver my volume multiple times per episode was a pain in the ass, having external mics for the characters with the audio normalised in post would make it much better.
Also, the shakey thing could be fixed on standing shots with a tripod.

Ok,
cut the intro. for the love of god.
i don't think the OP is coming back
Yeah, it goes on forever. Also, the RPG-style stats thing for each of the characters is cool, but you can't really see the numbers against the background.

It's mostly just done with a proper boom mike.
Also I thought you guys were being harsh but this seriously licks balls.
True, but even so, discussing how terrible it is and how it can be improved is still.. something to do..?

Edit: To turn what I just said into constructive criticism, get people other than your friends involved in making the show. Make sure a whole lot of people find the material funny, especially those who are not completely in to gaming. And, yeah, tripods are pretty awesome.
Ripping on it is something to do, and is fun at the same time.
It's a win win.
edit: Or we can make this about Farador, which totally rocks.
