Troublesome File

I've got a folder on my pc that has a fair few files, and there seems to be a bit of a troublemaker. Whenever i load open the folder, it waits about ten seconds and then crashes windows explorer. Now obviously i tried to delete the file that i thought was the problem, and sure enough, whenever i highlight it, windows explorer crashes and dumps me back onto my desktop. Is there anyway of getting rid of the file in question?

Reboot, then try deleting from the command line without ever trying to load the folder in Explorer.

I remember this working when I had a problem with XP not reading file metadata from a large video file correctly.
